What if Elon Musk created his own Tesla X gaming system? What would it take for you to buy it?

It would take a lot imo. But if it were 1/2 the price of the current gaming systems and used Nikola Tesla's original tech then I would be very tempted to buy it. How about you?

It's hard to think of what a new entrant could do which is new and refreshing.

At this point with digital games, you would need to have some kind of reputation and guarantee of stability, that you wouldn't lose access to your games if the project isn't successful. This is one of the biggest hurdles for a new entry in gaming hardware.

I would only be able to mention generic things like strong developer support, good price/performance, community features, comfortable controller. Maybe a handheld version and a console version that both play the same games. Family/friend access to games.

Personally I would look for physical media or at least the ability to play offline and back up/restore downloaded games when offline, so that there is some kind of guarantee I can go back to them in the future.

It would be funny af if he did lmao. Not a hater of his, so if he was to create a noticeably more powerful system, and had good first party exclusives, i wouldn't mind having one. Would even buy a system for Maroxad knowing how much of a fan he is of Elon.

I don't really buy consoles based on who is making it. It's more about what can be played on it... The last thing we need though is another pierce of proprietary hardware... Good God no.

Just give me Starlink and a reliable, unlimited-data plan that doesn't cost an arm and a leg and I will be happy. I don't need another gaming system. PC is fine, and I don't think he'd really offer anything better/different than Nintendo, MS, or Sony offers.

If he wants to enter into the CPU or GPU manufacturing business he is more than welcome to; lord knows we need more than Nvidia, AMD, and Intel for options.

@SecretPolice: I've been looking at discussions around that for a long time. Hydrogen in a fuel cell EV has been one of the most interesting targets. Obviously the final emissions from that are clean. It sounds good if they can efficiently extract, transport, and distribute the hydrogen, and if the conversion to energy, cost, overhead, and infrastructure for that is cost-effective and competitive, and if it is safe during transport and use.

My first thought was I wouldn't buy any console from a company new to gaming after seeing so many companies fail miserably, but after thinking a bit I would consider it if it met the following criteria:

1) It would have to be cheap, and with how little I've been spending on gaming I am talking about nearly giving away their system. Unrealistic I'm sure but I think it would be a bold way to enter the market.

2) It would have to have interesting exclusives. I'm mainly talking games but this could apply to exclusives features like a type of VR that uses haptic gloves or something like that.

3) It would have to be playable offline. I don't want the system to be obsolete if they give up and close down the servers (looking at you Stadia).
