Yes, Halo got all those rave reviews because everyone felt sorry for the XBox. I'm sure of it.Verge_6
I said nothing of the sort, I do think halo is a good game, I just don´t think it would have been anywhere near as successful on the playstation, halo saved the xbox for a certain death cause it was a good game, the playstation did not need halo, it wouldn´t have made half the impact. That´s my take on things anyway.

If Halo had come out on PS2 then we would have a completely different video games market.
It is conceivable that the Xbox would not have had a follow up console.

It got all those rave reviews because it was the consoles only truly outstanding game. Whereas PS2 had this quality of game across all genres. It didn't have as many fp's as xbox, but only halo, riddick & timesplitters were anygood on xbox anyhow.
PS2 did have some great fps's earlier on it's life, as proven by the fact they moved over to be multiplat on xbox. Red Faction, Timesplitters were great. But developers were doing different genres on PS2 & thinking for gamers, not just one type of gamer like MS.
Halo was great & if Sony had got bunjie as exclusives, then xbox would have been dead in the water...As it were, Sony didn't even half need Halo as shown in the sales figures of PS2 & it would have been just another game on PS2, albeit one of the best fps's it had. But in the grand scheme of things, this game was the sole game for ms's lifeline in consoles. It wstheir jugular vein if it was cut 360 wouldn't exist. Thats sad for MS but great for bunjie. Nobody could say the same thing about any singular game on ps1 or 2, or any other console in history for that matter.
If MS only want one game on their sytems, they should have gone to the arcade business.
It would have: watered down graphics, no online, terrible controls etc...KaoTikkk
Well the first one wouldn't have online but the second one would have. Controlling it would be more difficult and the graphics would be a little downgraded but I'm sure it could be done in some way shape or form. Regardless of which Xbox would have been doomed.

And it would have merely been a 'good' game on the Playstation due to the fact the Dualshock is horrible with FPSs, and the hardware limitations would probably have cause stuttering and the like ala Killzone.Verge_6wow. I was going to agree but then you sounded really ignorant with the remark to dualshock. Dualshock is probably the best controllerever made. THe 360 controller is amazing but wow....dualshock is like .2 percent worse.
If it did come out for PS brand I would have a 600 dollar paper weight until this November. But in all seriousness, I dont think it would have been as good, the controller for the PS2 really doesnt work well with Halo...its not really a FPS controller like the Xbox (not the elephant one) was...thats just my opinion.jfkunrenderedAmen
