ok, you got the wii is 8 mil, and the 360 is 12 mil, PS3 is far behind but I have to admit that its still early in the game, (WHAT WHY AM I SAYING THIS!?!?!?!? I ARE ANTI COW) anyway

MS has Halo

Nintendo Has SSBB

Sony has apparently MGS4 for 07

say right before halo 3 and SSBB come out Nintendo catches up to MS, MS gives out a price cut, and they take off selling EVENLY

this could be Sega Vs Nintendo all over again, with the genesis being the Wii and the 360 being the SNES, or the other weay around, you choose.

now for you whippersnappers I'll need to explain, the Genesis and SNES had a close race for awhile, til Nintendo got smart and pulled forward, but as a former sega fan I have to admit, I think MS is alot smarter than Sega is and was, they can make it a race if it ends up like this

and no we dont wanna rule out the PS3, with this price drop on its heels it may cling to life and pull in there, I cant belive I am being rational, usually I would be like, SONY MUST DIE, NINTENDO IS CASUAL, GO MS, BLARGH

so what happens if its a 2 or 3 way race?

MS could easily drop the cost of the Pro 360 $200, I am sure they are willing to lose money, they did it with the Xbox, and they are MAKING MONEY with the 360 right now, I am sure nintendo is putting pressure on them

would anyone be shocked if the 20GB 360 or the core was $199? thats a $200 loss for MS, since they are currently breaking even or something, and I forgot how much they lost on each Xbox when it was $299, and $199

as I said it would take awhile to sell 4 million more wii's and in that while MS will have Halo 3 out, and that will boost it up alot, not to mention GTA4 3 weeks later

I think an even race would be awesome. It would encourage developers to work on both the Wii and the 360/PS3 fairly evenly, meaning great games abound no matter what consoles you own. And that, though it might cause System Wars to explode, would be a great thing for every gamer.Hoffgod

The Wii is nearing 9 million while the 360 is barely passed 10 million.

The 360 failed to get to the 12 million ship mark MS sent - fact is the 360 can't win without Japan or Europe. The main reason the Genesis lost to the SNES is because the SNES sold 15 million more in Japan than the Wii (everywhere else it was tied).

You cant compare 3 titles, one from each system, and use it in anyway to try and determine a consoles success. Because despite MGS4 coming out, not everyone will want to go pay 600 dollars to play it. Same with 360 and Wii. They buy the console that best suits them, not for just one game.

I believe that the 360 will surpass both of the other 2 systems come the fall, much as it out sold the other 2 during the last holiday season. And by surpass I mean higher monthly sales.Vylence
