I think there would be no xbox.Llama_713its true there would be no xbox, it would be nintendo sega, and sony
There is barely room in the market for 3 consoles let alone 4. one would completely fail, and another would semi-fail probably - but it is impossible to decide since we don't know what kind of console they would be bringing out.mattyftm
well if they did remake the dreamcast it would be a niche console, and man would i get one
is anyone else having problems posting? my posts keep disapearing?stika
lol yea, there not dissapearing, they are there, but the forum is screwed up and it dsnt show when things are updated for sum reason
If they were their own company, they'd be in last place imo.
Right now they've kinda joined forces with Nintendo, so they're still part of the console business in a way.

We should go back 15 years and tell both Nintendo and Sega that this will happen. Their reactions would be priceless.

My posts don't appear when I post. I press the "SystemWars" button and it says the thread has 10-20 new messages and I was the last one who posted. >_>
I saw the new Sega Console in Wal-mart the other day. Seems like another Sega Saturn surprise launch!

I think I've encountered some of those claw machines before in an arcade. They suck because the claws only have 2 prongs so it's impossible to pick anything up.
well if sega made a console for this gen and stuff i think the ps3 would be dead because (i know the xbox only came out after DC died but..) sega would definitely have a huge launch title with sonic, wii is doing good by itself and 360 with halo 3 and that leaves the ps3... Microsoft1234

Well that's how Sega stays in business.
Microsoft and Sega had a really good relationship, and MS provided the OS for the Dreamcast. I'm suprised Microsoft didn't buy them up after the DC, go co-release a console - that wouldve been awesome.BambooBangerGood? only if you consider screwing you in the back good. Only with Sega of America and mainly Peter Moore had a good relationship with MS. But he was even then considered a tool of MS. I mean all they wanted was to use the DC like a stepping stone for their console, even went as far as wanted Dreamcast games to be compatible with their Xbox.
No one in Japan wanted the Dreamcast to be windows based, as it couldn't do Model 3 properly. and when the Xbox came out, SEGA, but mainly Smilebit highly regretted making their games for the Xbox on the companies behalf. In their own words, they would have rather made them for the GameCube.
Also it was SEGA of America, who sold Shenmue II releasing exclusive to MS, screwing all American DC users.
Sega fell apart after DC died..... haven't really made a good game since.Lazy_Boy88

you were saying?
If they were it would've been a partnership with Sony, MS, or Nintendo. Hardly matters considering Sega fell apart after DC died..... haven't really made a good game since.Lazy_Boy88
Virtua Fighter 5?

This is how Sega stays in business.
Sega isnt has good as it used to be, but are people blind? they still make great gamesstikaSEGA still makes tons of great games IMO there only bad games are games that have to be Multiplatform SEGA makes great games when they are Exclusives but when they are Multiplatform they just can't do that so if SEGA would make another console all there games would be exclusive and they would be great.
Okay though the TC didn't mean they should get back in business but I keep wondering why people want SEGA back to making hardware. I mean why? SEGA is nowhere even close as what they use to be. When was the last time you've seen a game from them that was as fresh as Jet Set Grind? Jaw dropping as Panzer Dragoon? Genre changing as House of the Dead? Hell when was the last time you heard anyone hyping a SEGA game as much as they use to back in the day?
All the developers (with few exceptions) that made SEGA so great either left or aren't as good as before.
The Camelot Team *though left in 1995 they still made games for SEGA* the ones who did the Shining Force series, is now owned by Nintendo and probably went with it since SEGA completely screwed them over with Shining Force III, so either way they would've been done with this series.
Overworks combined with WoW entertainment and instead of making Sakura Wars, Shinobi, etc. are making light gun games, sorry but House of the Dead 4 and Vampire Night do not make up for the transfer.
I don't even need to say anything about Sonic Team, they're just an embrassment to the company, I mean it's one thing to ruin Sonic but to ruin Phantasy Star also?
Tetsuya Mizuguchi, who did Space Channel 5, doesn't make games for SEGA anymore and pretty much makes puzzle games for handhelds.
Smilebit , Jet Set Grind, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Gunvalkyrie, pretty much got pist off how this industry works as their games sold like crud and other less quality games sold almost or even a million. So now they just make soccer games.
SEGA is far away from there old days and in no way, shape, or form good enough to launch a console. I mean yeah they make good games like Virtua Fighter 5, Yakuza, and Crush, but hell I can say the same for almost any company.
So no SEGA shouldn't be in the console business, and as for still being in it, judging from their past hardware they would've done something stupid to screw themselves over anyway.

Yep I have it too.

I know you obviously aren't aware. But they have 5 floor + (up to 9) Club SEGAs all over Japan. And a couple of Joypolis mega amusement centers. And ever heard that they merged with Sammy? They make millions alone out of pachinko machines.
And for the one who said he couldn't graba anything off the UFO catcher, it should look around for some Club SEGA videos. The Japanese are mad good at that.
All of Sega's consoles have been flops, so why would they want to make another one.
XenoNinja
"Flops" sales-wise. But god damn, I loved the Saturn and the Genesis.
SEGA have so many exclusive franchises up their sleve that its admirable they don't whore them out every second year *cough*nintendosquare*cough*. They all have so much potential at the right hands:
Space Channel 5
Jet Grind Radio
Panzer Dragoon
After Burner
Wonderboy
Shining Force
Eternal Champions
Phantasy Star (NOT ONLINE)
Daytona USA
Shinobi
Comix Zone
Virtua On
Fighting Vipers
Fantasy Zone
House of the Dead
Altered Beast
Streets of Rage
Alex Kidd
Dragon Force
Toejam & Earl
Vectorman
Virtua Fighter
Shenmue
Golden Axe
Space Harrier
Skies of Arcadia
Crazy Taxi
Sonic
Beyond Oasis
Ecco
Sega Rally
Virtua Cop
Clockwork Knight
Rent-A-Hero
They really need to get their act together...
