Would it kill sony?

$600 didn't kill Sony with the PS3 so it wouldn't do so now. Besides that, the only reason the PS3 cost as much as it did 7 years ago was the exorbitant cost of Blu Ray drives back then. Today they're much cheaper (and faster to boot) so it's much more reasonable to expect a $400-450 launch price for PS4.
Ok, it would be a problem, but I don't see how it would cost that much. The most expensive part is likely the RAM.
I will still buy the PS4 at $600 like many others..
Alternatively one could wait until a price-cut and a bigger games library...
The drones would still hype it across the internet as the first coming of Christ but then not buy it, just like the PS3 :?
Then I would buy the Infinity and wait for a price drop before picking up the PS4.

That makes sense. Buy a $600 console with online fees and no games instead of a superior console with free online and great exclusives for $400.
The thing that people don't realize is with Sonys steep price tag comes quality. You get what you pay for.
Â
->Xbox always has hardware problems and this one will to inevitable. PS4 if you wanna buy  it once and be done with it, Whereas if you buy an Xbox you maybe replacing it 3-4 times this generation.
Â
->Now let me ask you guys, which one ACTUALLY costs more? Trick question, The xbox because you have to replace it multiple times.
It wouldn't really affect my purchase. I would stick with the original plan. Wait for 2 years, pick it up after redesign/price cut.
If there's also a $500 model, and the console is built like a tank and has the highest possible standards, then so be it.
The thing may actually be worth $600 anyways.Â
With today's economy, that would be a problem. $599.99 didn't work out too well for them before, and I can't see it working now.
Anyone buying "a" console expects that. :P I see the ps3 being near $600 this time around, considering what it has in it. I don't see anyway to get it cheaper unless sony does something similar to what M$ is doing. They could charge less for the console and make you sign an agreement to pay for plus at a higher rate. That could be a way, but I don't see it being likely.I'd buy it because I know i would be given alot of amazing experiences in return
