You definitely are. But don't get to comfy. Now that Comcast is going with nationwide caps and people haven't revolted, AT&T, Time Warner and others have announced plans to extend or introduce caps on their services as well.
Unfortunately, Service caps are gonna be the standard in the U.S. within the next couple years.
And yeah, that will slow the adoption rate of DD considerably...

No it won't. People will just pay the surplus charges.
Comcast caps out @ like 250 gigs a month. Streaming or downloading an HD movie will be nowhere near 50gb or what's on a blu-ray. Just like DVDs, most of that is bloated space and you can shrink the file size down using the same codecs and not have a noticeable difference, or you can use newer and better codecs and drastically reduce the file size with little to no noticeable difference. The sooner DD comes the better. I don't live in some backwater place that's dial-up only, I NEVER resell stuff and I only buy games and movies new. For me there are ZERO cons to digital distribution at all. Not to mention that some of the biggest stuff that people bring up is pure bullocks and hasn't ever been in anything that's been distributed digitally... like the idea that you can only download something once or if your HDD breaks, you can't access your content ever again.
iv fully embraced DD, probably helps that i only pay £5 a month for my net with 16MB download speed and unlimited usage :) the less time i have to wait for new games the better and if i can DL them the day they are released rather than having to go and pick it up or wait for it to be delivered im not gonna complain.
i can understand why some people would be opposed to it but as time goes by internet speeds will get faster and cheaper, right now it may not be ideal but its the future of gaming so people should really get used to it.

How would you know unless you hit the hidden cap? All ISPs have a cap, whether hidden or public. XD Since I have had a few conversations with the tech guys at my ISP, some of them I know personally, since my ISP is local, I would know. Well, maybe it has to do with you being in a small town. If it's a local ISP that only services a small town, it may not require a cap due to it not having many users. That would change though if the bandwidth hogs all come to your ISP because it has "unlimited downloads". In other words, enjoy it while it lasts.

All scenarios that the overwhelming majority of people will never encounter. You'd have to stream HD content 24/7 to hit 411 gigs in a month. You'd be streaming content even when you're sleeping.

Is 250GB/month the cap for Comcast? I have the basic tier subscription that's supposed to be 15MB/s DL speed. Also Comcast has it's Ultra 50 tier available in my area which is supposed to be 50Mb/s DL speed, does anyone now if there is a cap on that? If I'm going to pay around $100 a month for this Ultra 50 subscription tier there better not be a DL cap....

I embrace dd and cloud computing too, but it'll take at least 10 years to become the standard. longer for cloud computing in general to reach its full potential. it'll take some time for people to accept keeping all their stuff on a google server somewhere.
