what is a better deal (psp and ds realated)

I have an opportunity to buy a phat ds for $70 or a psp-1000 for $100. As far as getting a handheld which is a better deal?

DS has a better library by far than basically everything currently available, so I'd go with that.

DS, games on the PSP are lackluster...

Both of those models are pretty crappy, but if you had no other choice, go with the DS phat - its D-pad is my favorite of all 3 iterations, and it's a tank with the longest battery life.
