What is Considered Kiddy??

Like what at what age is the beginning of kiddy..and what age is the last year of being kiddy??

Because everybody says Wii is kiddy...yet i cant picture a whole bunch of 3rd graders all in a group talking about how awesome mario is....but i can picture a whole bunch of 3rd graders standing around saying how "cool" they are because they played Grand Theft Auto....

and it is my personal experience that the immature people only play mature games, because they think it makes them look cooler and older...because they are the only ones that really care about there image...

the "mature" people play what games are fun because they are already secure enough with themselves to realize they arent defined by what games they play.....

Im not just talking about the wii though...its all systems...

I own Viva Pinata and i think its pretty damn fun...but my friends from school (im a junior in highschool) laugh and say the game is for little kids....which it really isnt, because im not a little kid and im having a tough time with it, its quite difficult....

this kiddy thing seems to only apply to like...highschool kids...mostly guys.

Um... most games that are rated E are kiddy, just so happens almost all of Nintendo's big titles are rated E.

not all rated E games are kiddy, viva pinata may look kiddy but certainly doesnt play like it

a game that looks and plays kiddy for example would be pokemon, kirby games, and stuff like that

Wii is considered for kids because 90% of its big titles are "kiddy" titles

all i know is this, if I have young children in my house, Nintendo is the system they will be playing on.

Sony and Microsoft have way too many games that are not good for children.

nintendo has a few nasty games I guess, but I can go to EB and close my eyes and grab any nintendo game and I'll say i'll have a 90% chance of grabbing a game any child can play.

but sony and microsoft, well jesus, just going online can scare a parent to death.

I love Pokemon when I was in middle school. Right now, it's played out, bored out to the limit that I have to call quits. But before that, was Mario titles. Sports are the main thing in my life, therefore, I would pick NBA 2k7 over any games.

Also nintendo has strict/no freedom/limiting online because of friend codes. No voice chat. No pictures online.

They brag about that the wii can block children from playing M rated games.

Don't forget Nintendo's kiddy image won't dissapear for 3rd partys. Games like Elebits, Sims 2: Wii, exclusive cartoon movie-to-game from Disney or Pixar, any game based on kid shows (Naruto fighting game GC exclusive, Pokemon).

You of all people should understand this. You linking pics of games and calling them kiddy based on looks and not content. If you did the same with Anime (based of your profile, you seem to like) then all Anime would be kiddy, bunch of stupid cartoons and crap. BUT, if you actually take the time to watch it, instead of just sterotyping it as a stupid cartoon, you might actually understand why some people like it.

Example. Cars may be a "kiddy" game. I dont know. I played the demo on 360, and meh, it was ok. Looked really nice though. But I havn't seen the movie either. But I have had more adults come up to me and tell me I need to watch Cars than I have kids. And the game maybe friendly to kids, but I bet its also appealing to the audience of the movie. Which is universal, not "kiddy"

But based off reviews and others opinions on the forums, its not only a great game, its a diffcult game, and most likely any kid playing it would grow tired of it quickly.

Well, making a sweeping generalization that the Wii is kiddy is like calling all anime kiddy. As for the Wii appealing to "Moms and Dads and their little toddlers", right, so me, and about 4 million other people are all either moms, dads, or toddlers now? Great logic there. :|

All of the main characters are animals. They're all designed to be "cute" and it's not realistic. It's totally real for a fox to fly a ship :P
