What is Resident EVII Biohazard?

Is it a completely FPS game? Capcom said that what we got yesterday was a tech demo. PT was a tech demo for Silent Hills and that was supposedly planned to be a third person game.

I don't get this! Capcom stated numerous time that a drastic change like this would happen only in a spin off. I played the demo and it isn't Resident Evil at all. Hell it actually feels like something made by an indie. ****ing disappointed but at least REmake 2 is on the way...

It's Resident Evil VII (or 7). Biohazard is what the series is called in Japan. They included both names because it was a world wide reveal. But this is a main RE game and not a spin off.

Thank god for RE2 remake. But I actually enjoyed the showing of RE7, the setting was giving me the chills.

How do you know they are pulling a "MGSV?" VII fits really cool in the word EVIL. I think you are over-thinking that part.

As a hardcore resident evil fan i'll be skipping RE7. This game looks like its targeting a different demographic. I doubt this sells anything in japan either.

Can't wait for this. Just what this series needed...a breath of fresh air. The " action " Resident Evil's started becoming stale with 6 being a CoD wannabe in my opinion. I've always like the originals better. Being a huge fan of the RE series, this new direction has DEFINITELY piqued my interest. Capcom pulled a P.T on this one.

This was the direction that the original RE4 prototype was supposed to be, before they changed it to the RE4 we all know today.

because people are idiots, they want the old style back so badly and will criticize anything that isn't the original style. Now I adore the original games (hell RE1 is my favourite horror game ever made) but RE7 sounds just wonderful.

Anything that takes inspiration from Silent Hill and goes back to its roots is definitely interesting.

I've enjoyed every single Resident Evil game so far, including 6, so I'm getting 7...I read they are going back to survival horror roots. Hopefully comes out good.

I think they just tried to go off the PT Hype and the full game will be entirely different, still using a first person perspective however.

I don't get the complaints. Did you guys want Resident Evil 6 again? If you want to play classic Resident Evil, go play those games. I welcome this change, Resident Evil has been stale since 5,it needed a new direction. That, and it's actually scary this time around.

Anything's better than RE5 + 6.

It's sure as shit better than RE6. The change of camera perspective is a natural progression for the series, and first person suits a horror game so much better.

Yeah, I agree with this. I also love horror games, so this is right up my alley.

Whether it will be good or not, is another story. But I'd sure as hell take this over another RE6 debacle.

RE was always a cheesy B movie style game. It sucks that they're changing it tonally. I hope this is just an offshoot RE series.

Capcom has confirmed it to be First Person only. The market is already flooded with these type of games, built for streamers and youtubers with fake reactions.

It's not Resident Evil. I've played every RE since the first and after playing the demo, the closest thing about it to RE is the limited item storage and that you're in some creepy house.

Resident Evil: biological reasoning, 3rd person, weapons, zombies, a historical lore to grab from.

RE VII: potential supernatural evil, 1st person, no weapons yet, was that a zombie at the end?, starting from complete scratch while borrowing from what.... Texas Chainsaw Masacre?

It's Resident Evil in name only. The series is dead to me except remasters and remakes.

I can understand why some fans might be upset that it's not the cheesy B-movie third-person survival horror they wanted... But I don't really care about that. I'm actually looking forward to the new direction.

What I want to know is, for those who've played it, how does it compare to other contemporary horror games, like PT or Amnesia?

Actually from what I have gathered when P.T was announced is that you have the option to switch between FP & 3d. I don't know to late to be certain now.

I am skeptical about this but after the dissapointment of 5,6 and Revelations 2 I think it has promise but it could suit it from a first person perspective mean Alien Isolation offered it.

A scarier RE4-like RE would be preferable.

But anyways, RE needs a fresh of breath air and I'm glad Capcom finally see the light.

According to this, the teaser is not, in any way, part of the main game. This kinda gave me hope that there will be zombies on the main game.

I'm SO excited they're apparently going back to survival horror and are dropping the action shooter stuff, apparently. It's not classic RE but it's an exciting new direction for sure. I never thought this would happen. This might be the first main title Resident Evil game I get since 4 (I skipped 5 and 6).
