what is so amazing about this year?

I hear alot of people and media overrating this year to be the best year in gaming, yet, I see 2008 is much more better than this year, what makes it so special?

I mean, there have been alot of disappointments for alot of hyped games.

Bioshock was a disappointment.

Halo 3 was a disappointment.

Blu Dragon was weak.

Lair, everybody know what happened to this game.

Heavenly sword.

Wii sport.

Zelda, it was released for the GC.

Folklore.

Unreal tournament 3.

All this games were generic, this is what is left.

Call of Duty 4 was decent.

Assassins Creed was the surprise of 2007.

Mass effect, it is a great RPG, nothing more, nothing less.

Warhawk and Uncharted were great.

Crysis, nothing special except the graphics.

Super Mario galaxy is the biggest franchise left for 2007, but that game alone doesn't justify calling this year is the best year in gaming.

Let's take a look for 2008 and what it will offer next year.

Resident evil 5, one of the biggest franchises in gaming and it bring us Chris back to kick some major ***.

Devil may Cry 4, one of the most anticipated sequels for 2008.

Ninja Gaiden 2 is one of the best action games coming next year for the 360.

Street Fighter 4, the best fighter franchise is back after 8 years.

Tekken 6, the second best fighter in gaming history in next-gen.

Soul Caliber 4, One of the most engaging fighters coming in 2008.

Metal Gear Solid 4, Snake's last mission to bring liberty to the world.

Final Fantasy XIII, the best of the best of RPGs everyone can't wait anymore for.

Star Ocean 4, one of the best RPGs coming for the PS3.

Grand Theft Auto 4, wow, what can I say for this game, It created a new genre of it's own.

Gran Turismo 5, the real driving simulator which everybody in the world likes.

TimeSplitters 4, the funniest shooter, yet the best.

Saint's Row 2, the direct competition of GTA 4.

Mafia 2, one of the best sandbox games coming next year.

A possible release for God of War 3 next year.

Super smash Bros, Brawl, the number one party fighter game.

A possible release of the famous Shooter Gears of War 2 next year.

A possible release for Resistance next year.

Now tell me how is the year 2007 is the year of best games? Btw, Im excluding the new IPs.

Its not hard to write off every single good-great game this year and then say that games you havent even played will be stupendous.

So you are telling me, because I didn't play these games coming for 2008, I don't know if they would deliver or not, please, I don't think Resident evil for example has a 5th installment because it was crap, all these games will be great, they are proven franchises over the years and Im not talking about 1 year or two, most of these games existed along time ago nd I've played each one of these games.

It was a disappointment because it didn't do anything new, I didn't care about the so called forge, I even didn't touch it after trying it the first time, this experience goes to alot of people, not just me, it is not a sin because I don't like Halo 3, it is just a game, but unfortunately, it is so overhyped, and when you compare it to a game like COD4, Halo 3 lose easily, this is not only my opinion, I love doing experiments on people, lol, alot of people I know they preferred COD 4 the moment I've shot a guy in the campaign, and they are now hardcore COD4 fans.

You can prefer one to the other by all means, but you cannot say one is great then go on to say the other is bad. The quality levels of those two games are practically identical. It's like saying Pepsi is delicious but Coke is disgusting. You can have a preference, but to acknowledge the quality of one is to acknowledge the quality of the other.

I love how the 2 biggest games I'm looking forward to aren't up there.

I don't think when I see the score at 8.0-8.5, I wouldn't play the games and say they flopped, if you think 8.0 is bad, it's your problem not mine.

TP was on GC, what difference does it make on the Wii? nobody I know bought it for the Wii because they have played it on the GC, don't tell me the wiimote.

As for the Wii sport, playing golf, tennis and bowling doesn't interest me at all, I rather play in real life, what is so hard to see? it is a sport game for bringing old people together, lol.

What are you expecting, some hot girl(or) boy to come out of the console and be your love slave??This is the single greatest year EVER in gaming. I don't know about you but I havent seen so many good titles come out ever. I think you should hang up your game hat as you are just judging games by thier hype, in my opinion. If you buy into the hype you will always be dissapointed in a game, instead don't listen to the hype, and judge the game based off your experience with it...

I think your getting tired of the same old genres, and the lack of real new factor of most of these games, I suggest you go out and buy a WII.

Any year where there is a game that scores above 97% should be considered a great year, because that is a game that truly everyone should try. There were a handful of games this year that will be mentioned quite often 10 years down the road. Crysis for its graphical acheivements relative to its time and sparking the advancement of a new generation of video cards, SMG for re-perfecting the 3D platformer, Portal for making FPS a respectable puzzle genre and opening up possibilities other than shoot 'em ups in a completely overdone genre, Halo 3 for selling over 3 million units in one day, Wii Fit for what will likely be the next huge multicultural gaming phenomenon (this is only out in Japan for '07 though), Metroid Prime 3 for ushering in a new age of FPS control schemes for consoles.....

I could go on. As you can see, there were some significant acheivements this year on multiple levels.
