What is so special about Bioshock? SERIOUS THREAD, im not trolling

i havent rly been following bioshock, i just know that it comes out this month

so....

why is everyone hyping it? all i know about that game is that it takes place in a creepy rundown under water world/lost paradise thing (a setting that i rly like from an artistic standpoint)

but what about the gameplay has everyone so psyched? does it do something thats never been done b4?

or is everyone just excited about it because its supposed to be a spiritual sequel to system shock 2?

i wasnt so big of this till i saw that plasmid vid. i cant see it winning in GOTY for some reason (note that i am half hermit half cow so i have no reason to flame this game) i dunno why. it looks cool plays good and will score AAA easy in my opiniion (9.0-9.5 definitely i think) but it wont get AAAA or GOTY as so many other great games are coming out but it has a pretty fair chance. i wanted to get it but im 16 and the games rated 18 so i cant buy it :( i really wanted to tho

1. The atmosphere and graphics are stellar
2. The intriguing storyline
3. The unique weapons and plasmid concept
4. The ability to make moral choices
5. The ability to creatively use the environment to solve puzzles or attack enemies

What is so special about %99 of the FPSers that get hyped beyond belief? It seems that any new FPS automatically gets hyped as being the greatest thing since gaming began only to be forgotten a month after launch. Doom 3? Far Cry? Half Life 2? Mark my words. Bioshock, regardless of what score it gets wil be forgotten the second Halo 3 comes out. Halo 3 will also be forgotten in short order since it seems like interest in Halo is slowing down.

FPSers are the candy of the gaming world. Tasty for a few seconds but it offers no nutrional value and your still hungry 10 minutes later.
