It's basically a game that lets you design the levels, test them, then let other players test your levels, and you can test other people's levels.
Think of it like Forge. Just only Forge though. Also it seems to be a lot better structured then Forge.
Don't they only walk sideways though. You can't walk in a 3D world right? It's basically a game that lets you design the levels, test them, then let other players test your levels, and you can test other people's levels.

PS3 fans are hyping it cause its a game that presents fresh ideas for a game and you can customize levels and stuff and share with others.comptonstBut brawl not only lets you create new stages but you can share them and Nintendo can send you one that they thought was the best of their selections.

The one possible AAAA game this gen.greenleaf2000I seriously doubt that. People also said that about Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed.

And yeah, it does seem like a game on the wrong platform, even Reggie Fils-Aime was impressed by it.
Jackign this from wikipedia
During a session at the 2007Game Developers Conference, gameplay details were revealed to the audience.[4] The game is currently in development but these details have been revealed so far:
The game features co-operative physics based gameplay, in which the player must overcome obstacles in a stage in order to get to the end. It also places significant emphasis on user-created content within the game, encouraging players to create their own levels and distribute them.
According to the on-stage demonstration at GDC 2007, each character can jump, move, and grab objects. Grabbing allows a character to pull an object (or another character) in whatever direction they are currently moving. This allows, for example, a chain of players to hang off of a rope when only one character is actually grabbing the rope. Also, it allows a jetpack-equipped player to carry the other players through the sky.
Objects are also made of many different, selectable materials, such as felt, wood, metal or sponge. The materials act realistically, where wood doesn't change shape when you stand on it or grab it, felt "squishes" and deforms. For example, at GDC 2007[5], the designers pull up a felt tree, a football (supposedly made of leather), an orange and stickers from the selectable menu, nicknamed "Pop-It"[6] in a later interview.
So far, public exhibits of the game haven't shown any enemies, preferring to derive challenge from the stage itself, which the player must navigate by jumping, pushing, grabbing, running and flying through it to overcome numerous puzzles provided by the game's robust physics engine. However, according to senior producer Pete Wilson, the game will, in fact, have enemies, ranging from small to big and complex.[7]
A scoring system was shown off at the 2007 Tokyo Game Show in the form of a time trial with a start and end gate. Scoring is based on both time and execution of the level.
The player is also able to move their characters' arms and head by using the control sticks and tilt control respectively. An unknown button on the controller, most probably a shoulder button, is likely used to swap the functionality of the joysticks from movement and camera control to individual arm control.
It was also revealed that character movement would also be based on how hard the controller is used, much like pressure sensitivity. For example, by jerking the analog stick, the player is able to slap another player inside the game.
A resource system is in the game, where sponges and other items are collected by the player in order to fuel their ability to build new objects.
[edit] User Created Content
LittleBigPlanet has integrated content-creation tools for the player. There is no special mode for the player to go into to reach them and, as such, are accessible to the player at all times. These tools enable the player to dynamically place, edit, morph, rotate and interact with objects within the game world. Dynamically reacting physical objects such as springs, ropes, levers, cloth and motors have been seen so far. Allusions to player created objects were also made by Alex Evans and Mark Healey during their presentation at GDC.[8] Additionally, the player may place an unlimited number of decals or 'stickers' onto the objects in their stage, including custom ones from pictures stored on their hard drive or other storage media. From here, levels can be uploaded onto worldwide servers where other players can download them by browsing world ladders of popular maps.
Finally, the player's avatar, Sack boy/girl , can be heavily customized and personalized using the in-game creation tools.

It seems like it should be a downloadable on Playstation's network. Isn't it a regular game?[QUOTE="Axel_rocks14"]It seems like it should be a downloadable on Playstation's network. Isn't it a regular game?Yeah, and it'll probably be full price. There's supposed to be a LOT of content, though.

I'm not a PS3 fan but I'm HYPING IT TO THE MOON because it's the reason I want to buy a PS3. Oh lawd it looks like one of the best games to come out in years. I really really hope it does well. nyoroism
When I think about it, I can't think of what's so great about it, but it still looks very fun. That's why I want to get a PS3.

Oops, sorry. By content I mean the items you can place in the levels. There might not be a lot pre-made when you get the game. Who knows. HSX, one of the worst games ever by many people's standards, was 10 dollars at launch. However, it had this awesome level-editor and became one of my favorite racing games to play with other people. Hopefully LbP can rely on its editing like HSX did.[QUOTE="UandalUideo"]Yeah, and it'll probably be full price. There was nothing to play but I made (what I blelieve) to be an amazing level whcih no one has played.

...
Reviewer: I created alevel that I thought was uber cool. But no one downloaded it so I really don't know if it was good or not. But I did play the few levels that came with the game and they were ok (i guess)..
How will the reviews be for the game?Good point. This game shouldhave offline multiplayer, so maybe having someone download the map won't be something they rely on for the review. But yeah, I see where you're coming from....

The fact that its a 2D platformer on a console is special enough. It would still be awesome Without all the user created content. I mean really, how often do 2D platformers get made for consoles now a days. Not often.web966
I can make one in a couple weeks with XNA...will you buy it? If so, I'll create it.

I will make it so that user created content will make it great. As far as teh actual game it may be good, but community content is what I'm relying on (like LBP). Still interested?
go read about it
you can create and share your own levels
you can beat your levels, or anybody else's levels with friends over PSN or inyour house
you can customize your sack boy or girl with endless possibilities
if your friend does something dumb you can command your sack boy to smack the other sack boy
a 4 year old can have fun with the simple controlls
a mature crowd can have fun making intense puzzles and amazing looking levels
it looks great
the theme song is catchy
if you can think it you can make it in LBP
thats why
