Polls are apparently broken, but I'm still curious as to which genre most of you lean towards. FPS? MOBA? Puzzle? RPG? I guess I'll go ahead and state that I have the most fun with metroidvanias/puzzle games more.

RPG. I should be utterly bored by the formulaic nature of them and the familiar and indeed obligatory challenge to 'level up' and get better equipment etc while enduring a painfully generic 'save the world' story but I just can't seem to get enough of them.
Games which never stop and require rhythm. Could be anything from Super Mario to Wave Race to Street Fighter to Fzero to Ninja Gaiden.
@mesome713: Have you tried Guacamelee? Apparently I missed out on it a couple of years ago. If you played it can you recommend?
@intotheminx: I loved it, i played it on coop also, i bout hit the floor when i had to play as a chicken for a little bit. That game is awesome, i also loved how they showed the map over the whole screen so you could play and use the map at same time. I would recommend it, its a great game.
My favorite RPG and sometimes JRPGs (with a mumble as I as the J.)
Systems wars favorite: The genre of Anger, sadness, sadness, and disgust. Basically the opposite of the movie inside out where joy is treated like an outcast and Sadness is the main character and feels Joy will jack up the natural order of the System wars.
I was gonna say RPG considering how many pages of (mostly wrpg idiocy and jrpg circlejerk) is spilled in every RPG thread, but then I realise that it's just the same 4 or so people with no time on their hands writing essay responses to each other on the former and just repeat threads on the same 3 or so games being enjoyed for the latter.
It's definitely Action/Adventure. Always see everyone contributing since the modern Action/Adventure tends to combine alot of different gameplay aspects that draws people to certain threads.
Nothing in particular, I suppose I like dungeon crawler style games like the Souls series, and your typical AAA action adventure titles.
The question is asking what I think SW's favorite genre is?
It seems racing threads go nuts around here...but I don't like racing. Maybe FPS?
As far as what I like? Fighting games, platformers, action games, RTS, RPGs, and the occasional FPS if it feels different enough to warrant my time.
Difficult. I'm not going to just say RPG because the encompasses a crap ton of games, I mean you can have a FPS RPG or a strategy RPG and so on, they tend to call everything with stats and levels an RPG.
I can't honestly decide, I like racing games that require skill, but even I get tired of them after a while, I like turn based strategy games (the bigger and longer the better), I like games like Port Royale and Mount & Blade which I can't really but into a genre at all, I like classic final fantasy style games with the old battle system, I like action adventure, I like plain adventure games, I like puzzle games.
I can't pick just one, a lot of games cross genres,
It would be better to list the genres I don't like
RTS (I hate being rushed), Sports, Generic FPS (some are OK bust most >90% are shit), Arcade Racing (NFS, DIRT, GRID and the like) I did like the original Motorstorm and Destruction Derby games though.
Anything without puzzles or forced stealth sections.
Out of curiosity, why do you dislike puzzles in games?
I don't have time for long games like the Witcher, or hardcore stuff like Bloodborne, TPS ~12hrs movie-games is all I can play to completion, TLOU being my favorite.
I'll make an exception for MGSV though, probably skipping all side quests and going only for the main story, can't wait to know what kind of weird shit Kojima has written for us.

Old school PC RPGs excluding JRPGs cause they hardly qualify as RPGs
Old school as in Torment and Baldur's Gate?

Yep and the first 2 Fallout games
Old school RPGs are the peak of video game storytelling at least so far
I enjoy all sorts of games but especially those with Metroidvania structure, those featuring stealth and those which blend FPS with RPG as well as RTS and space sims. Survival aspect and crafting also "me gusta". Same for tactical shooters. That being said, apart from contemporary home console JRPGs and loot based isometric ARPGs I can enjoy just about everything

They're frustrating.
