What is System Wars' favorite FPS series?

I personally enjoyed the Doom games a lot.

Titanfall.

I voted for Counter-Strike. I doubt I'll ever get bored of it.

Call of Duty or Halo. I'd say Metroid Prime, but I don't really consider it an FPS.

L4D is always fun. I never seem to burn out on that. Both games were really awesome and Valve continued to support them for a long time. There are FPS I like more, but most series usually have at least one clunker to weigh it down:

Halo - Halo 4, ODST

CoD - MW2, MW3, Ghosts,

FEAR - FEAR 3

Killzone.

Yea, I haven't played very many fps games.

I'm really enjoying Battlefield for PS4. I'm really considering getting the Premium package which is not something I would usually do for a game.

Doom for me.

Left 4 Dead 2 I guess.

Dark Forces/Jedi Knight.

descent has always been special to me. also, the quakes, unreal tournaments, and half-lifes.

Actually tough, went with Halo as I'm so drawn to the lore and it has several great quality entries instead of just one or two.

The best series up there imo is the Metroid Prime series, didn't pick it as it's not truly an FPS.

I've never been big on shooters and I completely quit playing them almost 6 years ago. That said, I loved the Prime series. I never thought of them as shooters, but out of your options, that's my vote.

In terms of straight up shooters I really enjoyed Halo 2 and Strangers Wrath. Outside of those, I liked the old Rainbow 6 games, Goldeneye, Doom 1 and Wolfenstein.

I've tried plenty of other big name shooters (Quake, UT, Half Life 2, CoDs, Battlefields, etc.), but never could get into them.

Gonna have to go with Halo. I've never had more fun with multiplayer games than I did with Halo 2, 3 and Reach.

@uninspiredcup: My neighbor gave me his copy of Half Life the year it came out because we had just bought a new PC and his couldn't handle it. I was 9 at the time, and that game effing scary. But FPS games were changed forever.

Fallout. If Perfect Dark was an actual series and they were as good as the original for its time then this certainly would be my fav

When it comes to series then I have to go with Halo.I hadn't played Half Life before until it released on the 360 in the form of the Orange Box and I loved every minute of it so that would be a very close second.

FPS is FAAAAR from being in my fav genres but the few ones I quite enjoyed last gen were:

1. Crysis series (More 2 and 3 than 1 honestly)

2. Killzone series (2 and 3 were great despite popular opinion. Havent played SF yet)

3. Rage (fantastic game)

4. CoD (I enjoyed the MW series. Sue me.)

Half Life is most favorite but games like 007 NighFire are also very impressive . On other hand tactical gameplay of No One Lives Forever can teach modern shooters a thing or two . There was room for only one choice so I went with Half Life .

The only fps I play these days is Call of Duty.

that's a hard one to vote on, since the FPS style is used in so many different game genres

Nothing beats playing Duke Nukem multiplayer on the N64 with your friends all huddled around a 32 inch 4:3 screen! Using the shrink ray to zap your friends, chase them around while they yell at you, and stomp on them is priceless :)

The only FPS series I've consistently played each installment of is Borderlands.

Counter Strike.

As a series? None, really. The closest would be the Crysis series. I thought all four games were okay. But, I like Far Cry 3 over any of them. Of the Far Cry series, FC3 is the only one I really like.

The next closest would be the Bioshock series (haven't played Bioshock 2 yet). It too plays second fiddle to FC3.

For multiplayer......

Tossup between the Quake series and Battlefield series. I wasn't interested in Q3A and Quake 4. Same goes for BF3 and BF4 after they dropped LAN play.
