What is the best fighting game franchises of all time

Who do u think which one is the best fighting game franchises of all time or you can pick one from the poll?

Street Fighter. Its hard to deny what its done for the fighting genre.

Super Smash Bros is my favorite

But I like some Capcom fighters a lot like Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, and Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

Not a huge fan of the genre though.

Street Fighter is the most popular, so of course it will be voted the best. That's like asking which game is the best platformer and expecting something other than Mario to win...

The Guilty Gear series. Street Fighter may be more important and popular, but I honestly believe Guilty Gear has the better games.

I can't decide between Mortal Kombat, King of Fighters, and Street Fighter.

Street Fighter followed by Super Smash Bros. One's the ultimate competitive fighter, one's the ultimate party fighter.

Two of my favourites are Killer Instinct and Soul Calibur II.. So.. not sure about franchise..

Powerstone 2 and marvel vs capcom 2 are the best in 'cartoony' fun fight style.

Hard to pick which is the best fighting game, because theyre all really good.

Each one is AAA material.

Eh, I'm not gonna pick one. I have had equally great times with Tekken, Soul Calibur, and Street Fighter. I never cared for Virtua Fighter or Mortal Kombat though. Not sure why.

Right on man. I played the crap out of BR 1 and 2 back when I was a youngster. Long the Tiger was ALWAYS the character I fought with. God I miss those games. Too bad the other sequels apparently sucked.

I only played the first one, I thought 2 never came to the US but what I saw for the previews it looked amazing.

Virtua Fighter deserves more love than this.

Street Fighter and Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo the best fighter ever.

I would have said Tekken not too long ago. Now I prefer Blazblue & even Guilty Gear.

I enjoy Street Fighter, but it seems too plain & bland for me.

Street Fighter or King of Fighters. Hard to decide between the two but those are definitely my top 2 favorites. If only a couple of my other favorite fighting games had as many sequels then those would be my favorite.

I like Mortal Kombat best but Street Fighter is superior.

Street Fighter, obviously. Virtua Fighter demolishes Tekken. No Tekken game thus far has even topped Virtua Fighter TWO, as far as depth goes.

• SNK versus Capcom (series)

One reason is because it was everybodies dream to pit Marvel characters versus Capcom (Street Fighter) characters back in the day. I remember all the hype in the arcades in the past and the large crowds it drew in. Everybody was on it. It was also tag so it was instant. I mean come on. Wolverine versus Ken. Ryu versus cyclops.

Yeah, I lost alot of quarters and tilt coins in my childhood :lol:
