What is the best old school horror FPS game you have played?

I had a Post befor about Modern FPS horror and got some great ones.

Now it's time to go to something a little more old.

Suggestions from Me:

Doom 1 and 2

System Shock 1 and 2

Quake 1 and 2 (Quake 2 scary in some bits)

Half Life 1 (Yes it is scary)

Once again I'm out of ideas. I do probably know more though. So remind me!

Remeber this: Scary is not violent and full of blood and guts, its about building up the tension and slowly following the protagnist in his quest for survival or to save the whatever. A zombie popping out of no where does not mean horror. Ifthey are a 1000000 zombies, it isn't as scary as just one wondouring around. Also dialouge isimportant. Just hearing about a possibility of something wrong happaning (Half life 1) or seeing unexplainable things (Doom 3) are very disturbing. Music is a huge factor as well as sound FX. Hearing water drip can scare you some times. Comment on all these things about the game you think is Scary.

I only rarely get scared by games. I will say Doom because i first played it when I was 9 and AVP because it was very tense.

The only one mentioned in the OP that can be considered "horror" is System Shock 2... and it takes the cake.

System Shock 2 no doubt.
Of more recent titles, Call of Cthulhu and Penumbra were pretty decent.
