What is the best rpg this gen?

Yeah I know demons souls was just released and it looks awesome. I dont have a ps3. But just wondering. FAllout 3 when it first came out people were saying it was better than Oblivion but now that both have been out which has more staying power? I kind of think Oblivion does but thats just me. Demons Souls looks really addictive especially with multiplayer ala Diabloesque in a way. Just wondering what you think. Risen? lol.....

I'd have to say Demon's Souls. It's diablo 2 crack on consoles.

demon's souls for me. This game is way to fun. Its innovative. It reminds of the times i spent playing diablo as a kid. Sure its hard....but thats one of the things i love about it.

Demon Souls. It should've gotten at least a 9.5 from gamespot. But I guess ill take a 9.0.

Is demons souls really an rpg though? Some will say its a hack and slash hybrid dungeon crawl action game with rpg elements like diablo. Oblivion is a true rpg and is deserving imo. Moreso than fallout.

Mass Effect!

I agree demons souls is addictive. Like wow or diablo crack, but if someone said Wow is the best rpg ever some people would laugh at you. Its more a mmorpg. Where like games like planescape, baldurs, mass effect, Final Fantasy, the fallout series, and Elder Scrolls are more true rpgs.

I'm not saying i agree with them. I'm just saying. Oblivion is also watered down and more an open world sandbox anyways. Diablo is one of my favorite games ever. Not sure i'd classify it as an rpg though. It was a hybrid.

Demons souls is more an action game like ninja gaiden with rpg elements. It's a dungeon crawl and takes things from gauntlet, fable, diablo, ninja gaiden and melds them and adds rpg elements.

So far for me its Mass Effect, and Star Ocean 4

I will say I think Oblivion is the closest thign we've seen to an rpg this gen. Unless you count some of the jrpgs. Mass Effect is also pretty hardcore rpg.

really enjoying demons souls right now. other mentions persona 3,4, fallout 3, valkyria chronicles.

i'm going with demon's souls. i've only played the game for a few hours but i've already had more fun with it than all of oblivion. haven't played fallout 3 or lost odyssey but i heard those were good rpgs

The Witcher, Persona 4, Mass Effect

1. Fallout 3.
2. The Witcher.
3. Demon's Souls.
4. Mass Effect.

Demon's Souls and Mass Effect are right up there with each other, but for me Demon's Soul just edges Mass Effect out because of the difficulty level.

Persona 4. I liked everything about that game.

I will say though I must check out The Witcher as it seems to be incredibly popular round these parts. Don't know if my laptop can handle it though.

I'd say Demon's souls. But Oblivin to me was better than Fallout, which was also amazing.

But Demon's Souls so far is just like an amazing game!
