Best in what? As for build quality, my PSP 1000 looks very nicely made although I like the clamshell (aka laptop) design of the DS better.
Sega Genisis. get Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles to have 100's of hours of fun. Then you have all teh other games too.
Without feeling nostalgic (I would choose SNES if I were), I would say the PS3......hands down, and NO, I'm no Cow.
In terms of games, exclusives, flexibility and multimedia package, the PS3 pretty much covers what I want from a mulit-media, gaming console. More bang for my wallet, imo. It's flexible because I can upgrade the HDD to any off the shelf 3rd party HDD available in the market, and with bigger space for only $100 or less, unlike the 360. It's already Wifi ready, though I don't care for it I prefer a hard line ethernet connection, has BR, CD and DVD playback........and plays games as well, including PS1 games. The only drawback is the lack of a PS2 compatibility feature. I still have my PS2 slim, but I'll live.
Best system of ALL TIME?
SNES
The best console that was, and still is the closest to my heart is the Dreamcast. If I were to judge by the most successful, then I would have to say the PS2. As far as reliability goes, my Dreamcast, Gamecube,Saturn, T-16,and N64 all still work, so it's hard to say on that topic. They sure don't make them like they used to thats for sure!!

cause pc doesnt have generations like consoles do. Its basically taking into account every pc game ever made for the past 20 years, which is unfair seeing as how consoles dont work like that.
I say the Genesis
dreamcast did have gems on it, but i never owned 1. and the 1 time i saw 1 for sale 2nd hand [for like £10] the guy i nthe shop couldnt find 1 of the wires :(
for me tho, N64. mario 64, ocarina of time, goldeneye, perfect dark, banjo-kazooie, mario kart 64 = epic

Because PC is the best, undebatable. Happy now? ;)
The Dreamcast. The amount of quality games that were released in such a short time is mindblowing. Tell me another console that had a AAAAE game here and only lasted a couple years.
[QUOTE="Slashkice"]DS is king. Ps2 is no longer the best selling "system".The PS2 is still King.
Fightingfan
hmm im pretty sure ps2 has sold 145 million units, the ds has sold i think 130 mill, take away the same kid having his parents buy him 5 ds's to keep up with all the iterations of them. most people i know who have a ds, have about 3-4 per household.

DarkLink77
LOL, thats not really supporting your case. the dreamcast was good but the ps2 destroyed it and surpassed any release it ever had.
