A mouse or the Wiimote?

I think the argument for FPSs being better on the PC because of mouse/keyboard combois soon going to be a thing of the past. I've been playing RE: 4 with the Wiimote and aiming with the Wiimote pointed at the screenis way easier thanusing a mouse (and leaps and bounds ahead of analog sticks). What is simpler than pointing directly at your target?

Granted it's on a system that isn't very capable of state-of-the-art shooters but hopefully Sony and MS will follow Nintendo's lead and create similiar devices for their systems.

A mouse is still more accurate, but the wiimote can be more fun. So I think its a tossup.

You can use the wiimote with some PC games too. :P

the wii mote is far better. pc fan boys will say no but they have no proof. the wii mote is point and shoot. a mouse you drag on a table not as good. wii mote has rumble you can feel your shooting. wii mote has speaker so u can have sound come out of it. with the wii mote it does cool things. like in heros2 pump the shot gun by moving the nun chuk up and down.

I find the PS controller faster and much more accurate than any other method. I can get quick long range head shots off with this controller. And in close areas the hand gun is easier to get quick shots off, I always try to use a mix of these types of weapons in just about any game I play.

Mouse is more accurate, Wii-mote gives you a faster response time. They balance each other out, with personal tastes dictating which the individual user is more comfortable with.

I could of sworn the thread is about what's a better aiming device not what's more immersing. You can pump that shotgun up all day long but if sensitivity's don't meet the demand it means nay. Gaming mouses reaching 2000dpi scans is far greater then anything available on the market for aiming and precision.

the thing I noticed about the Wiimote is that you are never really pointing the controller where the pointer is, your always pointing above or below depending on where the sensor bar is. So I'd say a mouse is.

it is not point and shoot, it is drag the reticle around the screen by moving the wii mote. if it were point and shoot you wouldnt need the reticle. i havnt played any games like that on the wii. if the wiimote were accurate enough they would just take out the reticle and have it be like arcade light guns where it is point and shoot. if you tried that on the wiimote you would miss half the time. i imagine that light gun style gameplay can be emulate, but some one needs to make a good game without a reticle for that.

Mouse is more accurate, comfortable, and faster. But the Wiimote is lightyears ahead of analog sticks.

Mouse is more accurate but I perfer the Wiimote as I actually perfer the bounding box system over the locked-in-the-center cursor. Plus, all the things the Wii controls can do (like the leaning in MoH:H2 is the first time I ever really used leaning in a FPS) make the game more intuitive and accessable.

The Wii-mote is also over sensitive and will start twitching when it's next to the end of the sensor bar.

But you're not looking at the mouse when you are aiming you're looking at the screen. With the Wiimote it can be more disorienting.

Mouse. The Wiimote technology still needs another generation or so to mature.

This seems more like a rhetorical question than one open for debate.

The Wiimote is a whole lot of fun to use, especially if games use it properly, such as MP3 and Zelda TP's bow aiming system. It still hasn't been proven very well in shooters, (Red steel anyone?). Mouse and keyboard excells in shooters.
