I would say Mass Effect but I haven't played it.

so I'll go with the Metal Gear Solid Series

Deepest meaning

It makes you say stuff like

"Damn that is some Deep **** right there"

Name some games with actual depth and a good story.

I guess Longest Journey: Dreamfall

That was some Deep **** right there.

The Witcher has a good and deep story. Alot of choices to make that can effect the game a couple of hours later. Also the world of Sapkowski is filled with racism against non humans so thats pretty interesting too.

For RECENT games, I say the Witcher ... I'm finding Mass Effect rather shallow sci fi for the most part so far.

The Metal Gear Solid games. They sometimes stray into over complex sci fi mumbo jumbo(vampires, Liquid's arm etc), but no game has ever made me think about real world issues like they have.

id have to agree nd say Dreamfall:The Longest Jorney. That game was more like a movie than a game, and delved into some really D&M theames that ive seen no other game do ever!.........Id actully say that it had the best stroyline any game ever has had.

I would say Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess, not so much length of game deep but , a moving, struggling lone adventure type deep, kinda' like Lord of the Rings.

Recently? The Witcher. It labours to avoid polarized concepts of good and evil and explores the ambiguity of morality.

As someone who just recently finished Mass Effect I think it comes a close second dealing with the issues of what it means to be human (or organic), but it just doesn't pull its core message off as well as the Witcher.

Of all time? Probably Baldur's Gate or Dreamfall. Metal Gear Solid is up there, but I think Kojima gets a little convoluted sometimes (the dialogue in MGS2 was baaaad at times) and that perhaps the stealth action genre isn't the most appropriate forum for a game trying to be post modernist.

Metal Gear, no game makes you think about the world like the series does. I don't know why people say mgs2 story was bad, i enjoyed it and thought it was quite easy to understand.

MGS 2 was kind of odd, and I don't like Z.O.E because it's a mecha game so I never really got too engrossed in the story. MGS has everything. Humor, a long running storyline, and crazy characters with a lot of history behind them.

Morrowind is probably the deepest game, ever. both KOTOR's are still some of the deepest around, and in terms of story, FFX still makes me go ''Omg.''

Diablo II

In all seriousness I think Alpha Centauri is the deepest game ever. I mean with the collection of quotes and the datalinks it is incredibly in depth. And this is coming from a TBS.

I dont get why Kojima is so revered. I remember Mgs2 with its silly "Vr is mind control" rubbish, and Z.O.E with its really deep "killing is bad" story....

You clearly beat MGS2 by quoting that segment from MGS2

Oh wait, that segment happened during the middle of the game...

MGS has always had a Fantastic story lines. It was one of the Only Games back then (in the PS era) that made you feel like you were actually playing a Blockbuster movie.
