I played the atari at my local rec/day care center when i was in kindergarden and first game they also had a pacman arcade machine too, and a space invaders machine too.
But the game that really got me into gameing like hardcore was prob street fighter 2. I rember going to my local laundry mat after rounding up grocey carts for quaters where i used to live in philly, just to play that game. oh god the good old days. I was 8 then. 3 years later I got my first console. the Sega gensis my first games was Mortal Kombat, and Street Fighter 2 champion edtion. I was so happy opening it up and playing it christmas morning with brother and father. My father was hardcore into fighting games, he was cheap though he bought one of those arcade sticks that only he could use which had a auto option for the buttons and had 6 buttons on it. so he would spam the E honda slap and walk with it.

My father came back from work in Singapore with a machine called a "Micro Genius" which was a knockoff Nintendo, and a cartridge with 30 games on it. It had Double Dragon, Contra, Mario, Lemmy, etc etc etc. Every classic you can think of. I was in kindergarten, so 1988 sounds about right. I was so hooked it was ridiculous. I didn't want to go to school.
I've been a gamer ever since. Addicted to MMOs, breaking controllers, cursing the Gods that put that checkpoint allll the way back there.... I took a bit of a hiatus at the end of the PlayStation era, but bought a PS2 and was right back into it when GTA3 came out. Great pastime, cheaper and less dangerous than street drugs!
Although I played Super mario bros, so did everyone else. The one game I for the life of me dont know how I beat at the age of 5 had to be Final Fantasy.
For all the people that played the NES version you know what am talking about, slow walking, no story direction, impossible fights, and the Ice Cave... DAMN YOU MIND FLAYERS * They where blue wizards in the game*!!!! One shot kills are brutal in that game >.>
All the remakes thus far of FF1 are junk, their Easy, there boring, and wtf is with all the story? Hes a pirate why does he need a reason to attack me? Pirates just attack then if you win they give you their ship everyone knows that!
Well, I got started on the Atari 2600 when I was about 4.
I'm not sure which game I liked more (and made me a gamer), but it would either be Pole Position or Combat.Â
Super Mario World SNES, i had to share console with brothers and sisters
Legend of Zelda, was my own game, my own console, my own save file, somehing about that was so memorable
Tetris I guess on the first gameboy when I was 6.ganagenta
I used to play so much Tetris, I used to dream in little blocks.Â
Ski on the Spectrum ZX at 5 years old. It used cassettes and took 20 minutes to load a 5 minute game.
