if you measure hardcore in terms of difficulty, then god without a doubt definetly demon souls

however if you measure it in depth and amount of time dumped into a game Id have to say for me either Oblivion, or Borderlands. Well for general people fallout 3, but I hated it so I didnt play more then like 2 hours :P

Lulz at the poll options. You all ought to give DCS: Blackshark a try on the hardest difficulty. It has the steepest learning curve out of all the games I've played by far... and yet it manages to be fun (for sim-fans like me, at least).

Well if you are basing this on difficulty then yeah Demon's Souls would be my pick also.

What makes a game hardcore? I don't feel any of the listed games are hardcore ...

I almost voted for Little Big Planet simply because it's one of the least "hard core" games for the PS3 now :P

i feel GEARS OF WAR is the most hardcore game of this gen..these listed games look softcore..except demon souls..
