For me, it would be how enemies die when I kill them. I'm currently playing Crysis 2 and **** the gunplay if boring, It seems like Crytek is trying to copy the animated death thing from the CoD series which I hate so much, killing things just doesn't feel satisfying anymore. The guns doesn't feel powerful because the ceph and cell soldiers kinda just fall down slowly when they die, instead of like Crysis and Far Cry, you actually kinda see the parts of their bother swinging back violently when they die. Also in a lot of FPS, a lot of enemies feels like the are made of paper, like Crysis 2 and CoD MW, instead of them being something solid, like STALKER and Crysis.
The "feel" of the gun when you shoot, its recoil and, more importantly, the sound it makes depending on the environment. I've realized how much sound design is important while playing BC2 and comparing it to other games.
[QUOTE="Twin-Blade"]Realistically, I'm pretty sure people don't "swing back violently" when they get shot. They just sort of.. Crumple. Edit: Unless it's high calibre or something... I'm no weapons expert, but I've seen things before. I don't really care about it being realistic or not. Though I'm sure a ragdoll death would be more realistic than most of the death animation in most games.[QUOTE="killzoneded"]The most impoartant is the name Halo Since everything counts and Halo delivers fully in fun and freedom in gameplay more than any shooter Too bad the level design sucked.
