eh currently? The oldest game I would be playing is Virtue's Last Reward on the PSVita.
That game came out in the States around 2012. Everything else I am currently playing came out in 2013 and up. If you want to get super Technical It's Muramasa which that game came out on the Wii in 2009, but I'm playing Rebirth on the Vita which came out in 2013.
Super Mario Brothers 2 and 3 which I recently purchased from the eShop on sale (I've played it before, though, of course!)
That's about 26 years old. Good games are good games no matter when they're from.
I'm always rotating between Sonic, Mega Man, and NiGHTS, as they're my go to single player games. NiGHTS, I was playing through just on Friday.
Seiken Densetsu III,the cart is still in my SNES
It's too bad that the game never came to the West. Thank goodness for the people who translated the game into English. I hope one day SE releases the game outside of Japan.
I have an English reproduction cart...best 60$ spent EVER
Nice thread idea here.
Unfortunately Im not really playing anything old right now. In recent memory, I played some Doom 1,2 and 3.
I think the oldest game I'm currently playing is Call of Cthulhu Dark Corners of the Earth. It's decent so far. Enjoyable but not very scary.
Did you play it back in the day? Starcraft was my only experience with PC gaming prior to circa 2012. I probably played it around 2002 or 2003, I was like 7 or 8. Whenever I play any of those old Blizzard games I get some damn fine nostalgia.
@SolidGame_basic:
Dungeon crawl stone soup ( on my new S5 phone) -- a fork of dungeon crawl which is a fork of rogue --circa 1980....
Good choice in game Tactics Ogre is an amazing Srpg.... also was playing Vagrant Story on my vita, which is from 1999. May go back to Baldurs gate 1, to replay on my ipad too at some point, but have too many vita/ps4 games to play at the moment.
I just started replaying the original Wing Commander.
First one launched in 1990.
How does that hold up? I haven't played a wing commander in years. I remember buying Wing Commander 2 back in 1991-2ish when I got a cd-rom and sound blaster pro for my 386sx lol.... it came with Ultima Underworld (more advanced than doom at the time and fully 3d) ... wing commander 2 cd had voice overs and for back in 1991 that was freakn amazing!!!
coincidentally i just started playing starcraft 1 last night. its a 1998 game.

yeah i used to play it a lot back in the day. although i never finished the campaign (a habit I've still got today, leaving games unfinished).
I bought SMB on the eshop recently. Otherwise I played TMNT (1989) arcade on my 360. fun game for $5.
silent hill 2
started it on hard and bosses in this game are pretty hardcore. Normal enemies take like 20 shots to kill, so I try to never engage them but when I get caught the damage is massive. I thought I was gonna beat it in like 2 days but it's gonna take me a while before I start part 3. XD
Prototype. 2009.
I played the 2nd one first. Playing games in the right order is very important to me.
Just finished Dragon Age : Origins (2009) . Now playing Silent Hill 2 (2002) . I plan to start KOTOR after I'm done with Silent Hill 2 .
