What is worse: Doom beta or Battleborn beta?

i have to say the Doom beta was fun for an hour and then it gets dreadfully boring. It's slow paced but also somehow a clusterfuck at the same time, with no power weapons, map chokepoints, or any sort of tactical mechanics coming in to play. Also the broken melee is giving me flashback nightmares of MGSV's online mode.

While Battleborn's PvP is pretty much hot garbage, at least the 4 player co op story mode is somewhat fun and has a Borderlands feel to it (obviously).

Have you checked out these betas yet? Both are free to download on PC, XB1 and PS4 for the weekend.

Well I can tell you that I'm not buying either game, well not Battleborn. I'll get DOOM for the Single player, maybe, when its cheaper.

Both BETAs were boring.

Doom beta is shit.

I didn't even bother downloading Battleborn, game looks like crap.

I played both of them and it's pretty much a tie. Both were fun at first but got boring pretty quick. I'll get DOOM though for the campaign and custom map and game mode creator.

The few streams I've watched of the Doom beta had streamers calling it weak or shit but I wonder if there is any correlation to the fact that the streamers died a lot? LOL

I'm definitely looking forward to the DOOM campaign so I'll probably get it. Battleborn was boring. Fun for the first few matches but after that just lost interest. So not getting it.

I played the DOOM beta yesterday for an hour then promptly deleted it. That was my first time playing MP since Brink and Halo 2. I didn't know what to expect, but it seemed like the same old shit. The shotgun is way overpowered in those tigh corridors and the rocket launcher seems underpowered now.

I don't really give a **** about MP anyways. All I care about is the SP campaign.

I was actually hoping Battleborn would give Overwatch a run for its money.

Doom was the worse, but both are kind of in the same bottom of a barrel.

I prefer Doom and am very much looking forward to its SP content. I'm not into either game for PvP.

Well I'll say this, the Doom beta at least kept me entertained for an hour or so. Battleborn bored me to death within 15 to 30 minutes. I could mention I could have probably enjoyed another game or two of doom though, but i was already getting bored. So doom was better, but that's not saying much of anything, they're both boring and bad.

Don't know about doom but that battleborn looks like a 15 year old game.

I suck at doom so it is shit to me lol. I pour lead into people with the plasma rifle and everyone just one shots everyone with the shotgun. Are the shotguns tha op, God I need help :(

The wave/horde mode of BF was pretty fun, but I haven't had a chance to try Doom yet.

I'll try Battleborn beta tomorrow. It was still downloading. Probably won't be playing Doom's multiplayer.

Just finished an online story mission in Battleborn, overall it was fun. Very fast paced, over-the-top action, but lots of characters and level up options(moba style). Don't think PVP will interest me, but the story missions should be ok for the occasional online arcade action type stuff, I thought it was decent....now its time for the doom beta, only have time for 1 match

Doom has power weapon drops like Gears. Except they only have 1 power weapon in the beta along with the demon rune. I would like for it to be sped up as well. Melee isn't broken lol. I haven't played BB yet.

Both were okay but I like Doom more so then I did with Battleborn. That said, I'm not buying both of these games now that I tested them out.

@intotheminx: if I'm shooting you and you run up and one hit melee me, it's broken

Sounds like you missed a lot. You can only one hit melee kill if health is so low.

I don't see the point in yet another MOBA, so pass on Battleborn.

Game is full price on steam. I don't see any word of that ever changing.

@intotheminx: the assault rifle (among other weapons) take a lot to kill someone. Most of the time people are running from you and you're just weakening them- only to have a teammate come along and finish them off and get the kill.

Shotguns and rocket launchers will be spammed because of this

Boy I blew hard at Doom.

I am loving battleborn, sitting at rank 48. Much better than I thought it was going to be and the team compositions are important but not hugely important at least at the level people are playing at now. There are lots of unlockables and even gear to find and earn so the single-player will keep me busy for a while too. Some characters are way harder to use than others so hopefully once the full game releases people will start using the non-starter characters.

Huh? Weapons could use a little rebalancing. Last time I played it was a shotgun fest. I agree.

don't know about Battleborn, but at least one thing Doom beta had going for it was people weren't turned off by functionality (to my knowledge), just design implementations, and more-so that it doesn't adhere players self-asserted OG gamer standards that seem more like indirect self promotion themselves as old-school for no other reason than self-congratulations than to judge the games on its merits... I hate to argue that, because the MP doesn't seem that remarkable regardless and I never expected it to be, I've no interest in this game for the MP, just the SP, I don't get why people are willing to write off a game because like many other games it fails to deliver a tacked on competitive MP

anyhow, yeah, again, the game works to my knowledge, when games have broken beta functionality then that's just a total turn off for me, I realize that shouldn't be the case because betas are to work out bugs and get user feedback but games should be in much more presentable states on the heels of their release than shit like that
