I actually like the Virtual Boy. But its not a handheld. And even if it was it still wouldnt be at the top of my list. Probably the 6th spot, just below the PSP.
Hmm, I would say the PSP even though I have most of the other handhelds. The PSP has been my most played handheld/console since my SNES if not my NES. The fact that I am able to play games from other systems on it, watch movies, listen to internet radio, watch movies on it streaming from my PC/PS3 while I am away from home truly makes it, in my mind, the greatest handheld. Oh yea, it does have a few good games :P
PSP - thanks to emulation, it's like having a PS1, a Sega Genesis, a NES, a GBC, a GBA and, of course, a PSP in my pocket. I can also watch movies and read eBooks on the move. The games are dirt cheap too, which is doubly awesome since the library is so rich - LocoRoco, Patapon, God of War, GTA, Metal Gear Solid, Castlevania, Jeanne d'Arc, Monster Hunter Freedom 2 and FFVII: Crisis Core.
I had a GBA and never got into it....but once I got a DS with mario kart, metroid, and PKD....I play all the time...all I need now is the perfect shinning force-like rpg and Im set...

PSP has good games, I'm not going to be a complete fanboy about it, just few I care about.

PSP has good games, I'm not going to be a complete fanboy about it, just few I care about.
My DS wins by far because not only can it play my awesome DS games, but also all of my awesome GBA games. For example, my DS is currently holding Professor Layton and the Curious Village along with Super Mario World, if those games don't appeal to you there's soemthing wrong.
