I’m going to assume tha Halo 6 will come out this year and go with that one.

Tepid interesting System Shock. Ever since they changed the engine it's looked somewhat generic.

Then Squadron 42... but for the space ship not the fps. Wish that game decided to stay in the cockpit.

it would be boring if its only space combat game. its variety from space combat to FPS to stealth mechanics makes it ambitious.

System Shock and Metro look really cool, it's just that multiplayer FPS take up more of my time now.

i forgot to put Quake champions otherwise for MP that game will be a win.

FPS games I wanna play in 2018 are:

• Far Cry 5
• Witchfire (assuming it releases this year)
• Metro Exodus
• Metroid Prime 4 (assuming it releases this year)
• Hellbound

Voted Far Cry 5 because i can play the campaign in co-op. I don't play many FPS because TPS is where it's at, anyone who says otherwise has poor taste like the OP.

because most third person shooters suck. very few of them are really good.

it will never going to released.

I really hated the third person shooter trend last gen, most of them were bland and barely tried to differentiate themselves. Nearly all of them were generic cover shooters trying to imitate Gears Of War and Uncharted. 95% of the gameplay was hide behind cover, wait for enemy to come out of cover so you can shoot them, duck back under cover to regenerate health, rinse and repeat.

One of the main reasons why I like WarFrame, it took the genre and made its own innovations with it.

last gen FPS also suck for most part. as they were trying to be COD.

honestly this gen is so much better.

Halo 6, Half-Life 3, DOOM II and Wolfenstein III

Metro Exodus for recent release I want

HL3 will never ever going to release but i think other 3 will definietely at some point.

Doom 2 is what im most excited for if we talk about unannounced games. i think it will announce this year E3 then release next year 2019.

Insurgency Sandstorm looks good. I wonder if those mechanics have been done in a game.

I have high HIGH hopes for Metroid Prime 4, its one of my most anticipated games only game I am more excited for is Red Dead Redemption 2.

I don't really like FPS anymore except for Halo. So Halo 6 I guess. Everything else looks like garbage. I hated the last few Battlefield games so they lost my money. I am sick of CoD. Metro sucks. The rest look boring.

I am a huge fan of 3rd person games. I find it more immersive and fun. More freedom to do more things.

None of those.

Prime 4 and will keep an eye on Witchfire. About it really.

I didn't like that trend either. I wish more third person shooters tried to be more unrealistic, like Max Payne.

not a lot of things break immersion more than being able to see where your enemies are/where they are moving at without you actually looking at them

Im waiting for whatever next game remedy is working on. they are best TPS developer. i even quite liked quantum break despite shitty TV show aside.

Are any of them going to do something different? Honest question. I used to love FPS games, but I feel like I'm playing the same thing over and over the past 2 decades. I tried Battlefield 1 last year and was seriously underwhelmed.

As far as being just another blend FPS like those of Call of Duty, Battlefield, ect? Well games like System Shock, Squadron 42 & Metroid Prime 4 are so far different then just FPS standards. Those 3 games I listed gives you good immersive.

Metroid Prime 4 is all that matters.

Metro Exodus is story driven FPS with linear and non linear levels

System Shock is FPS/RPG

Squadron 42 is tactical shooter with space combat

Witchfire is mindless old school fast paced shooter like Doom

Far cry 5 is open world

Metro Exodus easily is my most anticipated FPS this year, but that's probably a good while off, in meantime looking forward to Far Cry 5.

no not really. its my fav FPS this gen but theres more variety. like Metro as heavily story driven or System shock as old school FPS/RPG or even Prey.

Metro Exodus. Though I'm also interested in System Shock as I've never played the original.

i dont think barely anyone played original 1994 system shock. i never played it because its too ancient. however system shock 2 is one of my fav game of all time. and remake is more SS2 than original which is imo a good thing.

no. it wont release before 2020. plus they will further make it worse.

Neither. Never mind the first, System Shock 2 is too old for my taste right now so if the remake manages to capture a fraction of what made the old one special, I'll be happy.
