I know this is supposed to be just a PC thread so this is a little overkill but I take my entertainment setup a little too seriously so I'm gonna be quite detailed, lol.

My current build is an upgrade from my 2012 build. Only new parts are the MOBO, CPU, GPU, and RAM. I kinda wish I went with an intel processor/mobo/ram combo like i did with my last build from 2012 but for the money i saved, the Ryzen combo is still top notch. Planning on overclocking it at some point for some additional frames if possible.

Weak rig, probably doesn't even hit a consistent 30fps in the majority of titles.

But your current system will be weaker than both PS5 and xbone 2, in fact most people who have posted and only have a 1080TI or below will likely have less powerful systems.
Only users with 1080 or above SLI configurations will edge out what consoles will have by 2020 so you're going to have to make another expensive investment if you want to keep your superior attitude bravado.
I do plan on upgrading the CPU & Mobo but right now I just see no point in paying so much for little gain. It can wait another year at least.

I am an enthusiast. I am not worried about any future consoles. My current rig is very good and I will have better specs when the new consoles roll out. I may even get an RTX 2080 soon if the performance is much better than the GTX 1080 Ti at a reasonable price.

perfomance better? sure. Reasonable price? i doubt it but i hope im wrong. Wouldn't mind selling my 1080 ti to ensure i can play new games at 4k ultra settings. I already have some trouble running AC origins at 4K/60hz, have to dial character detail and tessalation down. Not to mention that i don't use anti aliasing. Not looking forward to what else i will have to turn down whenever I decide to jump on AC Odyssey.

I doubt the consoles coming will even beat out a single 1080ti. Either way I will have a far superior system compared to the consoles come fall 2020.

The PS4 is supposed to be equivalent to a 7850...good luck matching that card up against games current PS4 titles running HZD, GOW, Spiderman and RDR 2.
Consoles are FAR more efficient than PCs in performance for the hardware given.
If next gen consoles are only have equivalent to 1080TI hardware the actual performance will of those consoles will vastly outstrip what a PC running that card could actually produce.
I'm always updating and tweaking my PC's, but these are the main components currently
Gaming PC
Ryzen 7 2700X
GTX 1080Ti
16GB DDR4 3000MHz
1TB worth of SSD's (m.2 boot)
55" Sony XBR 900e 4K HDR TV
Office PC
Ryzen 5 2600
GTX 1060 3GB
32GB DDR4 2666MHz
27" ASUS 1440p monitor
@tgob89: Does a X1X outperform a 1070? Nope. Does a Pro outperform a 1060? Nope. Thanks for playing.

Yeah laugh at the worlds most powerful console. Enjoy playing RDR2 in two months. Oh wait! ?
@tgob89: I don't care about how efficient a console is. At the end of the day it all comes down to quality. How does the console stack up to what is available on PC? Current gen is absolute shit. Even the "premium" consoles are bottlenecked by the CPU and capped at 30fps for many games. That needs to be addressed next-gen or they will be a joke too.

No worries, they are just saving the best for last. I will laugh at all of you playing RDR2 at 30fps. Even if I got a free copy of the console version, I would still wait for the PC version.
@tgob89: Doesn't need to be the base level. Do you even have a clue about what youre trying to debate? Youre wrong, im right. Deal.

Hope? LMAO! Do you know how much money take 2 made from GTA 5 on PC? Investors would have a conniption fit if they left that money on the table. This aint 2009 anymore, bud. Its a given it will be on pc.

I plan on getting at least a 500GB SSD and another 8GBs of RAM when the Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals come later this year. Maybe even an Xbox One controller since my 360 controllers are starting to fall apart and the dpad sucks for fighting games.
