I would have to say that the closest thing to a flawless franchise would be the Metroid series simply because not one entry in the series has been less than AA, whereas even Half-Life had Blue Shift and Zelda had Link's Crossbow Training.

There's nothing wrong with Blue ShiftI would have to say that the closest thing to a flawless franchise would be the Metroid series simply because not one entry in the series has been less than AA, whereas even Half-Life had Blue Shift and Zelda had Link's Crossbow Training.

The Metal Gear Solid franchise. Every one was godly. As great as each one was, somehow Kojima found a way to make the next one even better. It is my favorite gaming series of all time. If I could only play one series, it would be MGS. I could play through those games hundreds of times.

There's nothing wrong with Blue Shift eh. none of the half-life expansions were bad, but definitely not AA games.I would have to say that the closest thing to a flawless franchise would be the Metroid series simply because not one entry in the series has been less than AA, whereas even Half-Life had Blue Shift and Zelda had Link's Crossbow Training.

i would have chosen MGS if not for Portable Ops+.Halo even though just 3 titles, but all AAA. hopesfall2ownHalo is only 7 years old, I don't think it's fair to compare its consistency to that of 20+ year-old franchises like Metal Gear, Metroid, Mario, and Zelda. you may as well say the World of Goo franchise has the best reputation if you don't take time into consideration.
Probably Zelda or Warcraft, or Resident Evil, idk lol Call of Duty? Pokemon? Half LifeDiviniuzResident Evil flops = RE Survivor, Dead Aim, Zero, Online.. Call of Duty Flops = Big Red One, Finest Hour, 3... Pokemon Flops = Hey you, Pikachu, Pokemon Snap, Ranger, Dungeon Master.. ugh too many to name..

Really? I'd argue that Opposing Force was at least as good as Half-Life 1, and HL: Episode 2 was better than HL2.
As for Blue Shift...yeah, I never could be bothered finishing it. It wasn't as great as the rest of the series.
Hmm...this is a tough question - even the Metroid series had at least one disappointing game (Metroid 2, imo).
Halo is probably the least tainted series that isn't super new that's been consistently awesome.
If y legendary we mean it was 95 or before, final fantasy, even if 12 sucked

Did I say Half-Life Expansions, or Half-Life 2 expansions?blue shift wasn't made by valve. so any half life games made by valve would definitely fit in your category.I would have to say that the closest thing to a flawless franchise would be the Metroid series simply because not one entry in the series has been less than AA, whereas even Half-Life had Blue Shift and Zelda had Link's Crossbow Training.

12 was decent.. the real headscratchers are Crystal Chronicles, X-2, Crisis Core, Ergheiz, FF1, Chocobo Mystery Dungen..Final Fantasy is one of them. The only one that hasn't been AAA is X-2 I think.Parasomniac
That one, and the hundreds of other spin-offs and remakes.
My choice is Zelda. Its impossible for Nintendo to mess up Zelda. The formula works too well.
Halo
GTA
Max Payne
MGS
to name a few
okay.. there are 3 max payne games, and only if you count the GBA port. The Warcraft franchise easily. Perfect AAA record which includes: 3 AAA, 3 AAA expansions, 1 goty + sales records broken twice.nothing can top that

To answer your question on bias. Lemmings cant exept that Sony has PWNED MS since day 1 going back to the original Xbox. Sony has been in the game industry alot longer and always have better games. Xbox and PS2 were pretty equal as far as hardware but Sony destroyed them in quality games. Now its the fact that the PS3 is far superior in hardware and is on the verge of destroying 360 in quality games again with better graphics. It seems to me that alot of people are married to MS. The 360 is a powerfull system but not powerfull enough which will soon play out. Every were you go on the internet its always xbox this and xbox that there all out of ammo so you see things like that. 08 produced a GOTY for PS3 and there best games are not even released yet while 360 didnt even make the nommine list with there almighty GOW2 which turned out to be mighty mouse.
IMO Sony Computer Entertainment is top of the legendary list with titles like Grand Turismo 1-4, DMC 1-3, GOW 1&2 Ect. IMO GOW 1&2 are 2 of the best games to date. Why people are so high on MS is beyond me even there new i7 processer got PWNED by AMDs Phenom line. Opps quoted the wrong person oh well.
