What do you guys think?

My votes?

300. I think that's a no-brainer. The fight scenes would have to be great and the incessant slow-motion in the movie could even be used as a gameplay mechanic. There could also be a mini-game where you play the queen cowing down to the court's traitor. That would rock.

Ikiru (the Kurasawa classic not Akira) would be excellent. You could play the beurocrat turned park developer facing stomach cancer. The AI would have to be good especially in the part where you are singing on a swing in the dark in the rain. It would have to be amazing AI or else it wouldn't seem right.

Spirited Away would really be fun. You could have a section where you try to remember your real name or even scrubbing a sauna clean and a horrific spirit eats your friends.

Also, I would love to see a game based on Juno. It would be perfect on the Wii. The motion-control is perfect for when you're the pregnant teenager dancing with the married 30-something. Or you could use it to also play guitar with your boyfriend. It would be great!

Donnie Darko RPGbearbones

Ha! That would actually be good if they could pull it off. Maybe not an RPG but some sort of Adventure game along the lines of Day of The Tentacle where you switched between characters. They could really dig deep into what was going on with the different characters during the whole ordeal. :)

"Braveheart", or the HBO series "Rome" -A GTA style open world action rpg set in ancient Rome, complete with gladiator style arenas...I'd buy that.

Well then mine would have fighting in it as opposed to just a collection of mini-games based on corpse carrying.

I wish they would get SE or a good developer to make Lord of the Rings rpg. That would be awesome.

How so? I've seen the movie and it's great but how would you envision it as a game?

If they could keep the story completely intact I would say a 7 samurai game MIGHT work. Possibly Kill Bill. One where you play as a young Bill might be cool as well.

None. It has never worked and it will never work. Other than a few Star Wars games and a couple of Batman games based on Burton's Batman and Batman Returns, games based on movies have always sucked and they will always suck.

Huh, keeping with the Kurasawa nice. :) I would really love to see how the Wii controllers would work with a rice eating mini game. That would be so fun!

You know another interesting idea is to do something on the Japanese film Battle Royale. A survival game or something. Awesome movie.

Goldeneye disagrees. The main reason that movie games suck is that they have miniscule development times so they always come out rushed.

Also, Riddick was really good. Dune 2 (even though there was only one movie) was absolutely excellent. What else, what else... Hm... well ok so the pool is kind of shallow. ACtually the Indy Adventure games from LucasArts were good too! But yeah that may be it then.

Like the movie, the game starts with Donnie at Carpathian Ridge and from there you have 28 days to escape your fate. You can just go around causing mayhem. Or you can try and do something. There will be different endings based on what you do with your time.

/pitch

On the other hand, 28 Weeks Later would make an awesome video game.

Its very awesome Japanese film about a full class of students sent upon an island where they find out their only survival is to kill each other, or else they will die anyways. They are sent in with packs with a random item in it either helpful or gag to defend themselves. And it pretty much it goes on from there. Definate a worth watching, if you don't want mind subtitled movies.

A game based on a movie (well, more a book I guess, but still) effectively created a genre. Dune 2 is generally credited with being one of the first major RTS titles. And of course Goldeneye set an entirely new standard for console FPS. I quite liked Chronicles of Riddick, but I think that was a prequel so I'm not sure if it truly counts though.

Yeah, it starting to sound like the DD adventure game might be too free flowing. It would be great though to be able to run around in that world.

And heck yeah 28 weeks later would be great! I hope that Left 4 Dead will be Valve's take on that.

There's a short animated segment that ties up some loose ends. It's pretty awesome actually, I love how the two films, the anime and the game all tie in flawlessly.

Then I advise watching it as soon as possible. It definately one of my top favorite movies. Tho, stay away from it sequal. There is a Manga adaptation of it also. Anyone who hasn't seen it, should.

Also, I think the wrong licenses have been used.

They still haven't made a decent terminator game (the last one was awful). I think a game set in the beginning, as the computers are learning to make lethal machines could be awesome. As time goes on they get more lethal and the humans have to adapt...

There are two sequels to CoR in development at the moment, not entered pre-production yet though.

AvP was also quite a good game.

Edit: As for the topic, I would love to see a game set in the Firefly universe.

"Masterkiller" would be an awesome game, so would "The Mystery of Chessboxing". There just aren't enough Kung-Fu based action games out there.
