i dont know anything about the PS4 and 720 so its hard to get excited about those. the idea of them just being really powerful PS3s doesnt excite me however so if there just that then i dont see myself being very interested. i hope they are more interesting than that. so at the mo the wiiu takes the biscuit. a non portable but far more powerful omni crazy ds (or 3DS, TV and devs willing) sounds very kewl.
WiiU because Nintendo is the only one of the three that tries unique things. This gen has tought me that all Microsoft and Sony care about anymore is putting PC games on consoles.
Wii-U! Because it's something new and different. I feel like x720 and ps4 is just going to be more of the same but just with better graphics and unnecessary features.
ps4 and the 720. the wiiu doesnt interest me in the slightest right now. BUT when i see that new zelda looking absolutely magnificent.....im sure my interest will be raised, somewhat.
I'm curious what Microsoft and Sony are going to show, but I have a really strong feeling that they are going to showcase controllers that make the Wii U controller look conventional. I bet there will be a migration of core gamers towards the Wii U if that happens.
My only interest with the PS4 and NextBox is seeing what direction they go. Will they go the Wii-route, or will they actually increase the hardware substantially? Other than that my eyes are only set on the PSVita, and the Wii U as consoles I'd consider buying
Wii U. I'll have to wait less and won't have to worry about getting quality exclusives. Personally, gaming with friends and family is the most fun on the Wii and it has a great library of games to back it up.

Mostly because of this. This generation disappointed me greatly as far as home consoles were concerned, with only the PS3 amounting to anything much in the long run. Whereas Nintendo's first party offerings were great, they didn't hold a candle to their counterparts from previous generations (the Mario Wii trifecta notwithstanding). Microsoft totally dropped the ball on its first party, and led the charge to massive mainstream casualization of gaming, so every game became a multiplayer focused, six hour long linear action movie campaign with no room for level design or platforming. Only the PS3 was a console that I'd actually spend money on, if I were given the chance again. Whereas the handhelds were excellent (the DS and the PSP will go on to become my all time favorite systems), the consoles disappointed. The way things are going, I see no reason to believe this will change next generation.

As a college student, I cannot accommodate a gaming PC. I may just be going handhelds only next gen.
I'm a college student O_________O It's time for a gaming PC. You know it, and I know it. Okay, let me amend my statement to say 'poor college student.' I can barely afford weekends out anymore, no way can I invest in a gaming PC. Plus, managing it in the dorms will be a big pain, I'd rather just wait a couple of years. For now, I'll stick with the 3DS and the Vita. The only way I'm getting consoles is if someone gifts me one.
Wii U. I have a feeling Microsoft will launch a console slightly stronger then the Wii U or maybe 35% more powerful. If Sony launches a powerful console, which are the only ones with this option IMO, they will die off quickly. Developers and Publishers will attempt to cater to the broader audience, this being consoles, and if the Wii U and Xbox 720 are near in power, while the PS4 is far ahead, the PS4 won't get many games. Of course, if the PS4 goes all power, developers can develop for PS4 and PC. But that being the competitive console market, the PS4 will not live long. I think Microsoft and Sony are waiting to see what the other does, to follow a similar direction. Although Microsoft's plan might be to watch Nintendo. As such Sony is lagging one right there. Who knows, it will be very interesting.
New consoles are always fun, no matter what brand. Even during times when I wasn't interested in games I found the hype rather interesting-----------aaaaand then of course I get suckered into buying them.
I'm really excited to see what Sony has to bring to the table next gen. I mean really, they got off to a rough start with an overpriced console and then had the whole PSN hack scandal. With all of that happening, they're most likely totally rethinking their plan of attack for next gen. I'm not too excited for the new xbox though, and that's coming from a 360 owner. I feel that Microsoft hasn't really given us enough reason to want next gen, if that makes sense. Sony and Nintendo are starting to push towards the future, but Microsoft is still in the mindset that they can make the 360 last.
Seeing how we know almost nothing about any of them, I really can't say yet. Besides, I am currently too busy enjoying the PS2, XBOX, and Gamecube gen to even care a whole lot about this gen, must less next gen :p
