What reasons will you have after the PS3 price drop?

First it was "no games." PS3 has a great library now and is still getting better.

Also there was "blu-ray has no value." Format war over. (obviously non-HDTV owners could still care less)

And post after post in SW attack the PS3 is about price. Which indeed was insanely high at $600. But the complaining continues at the current $400.

What will be your reasons for not getting a PS3 when it hist $300 this spring?

Please, I am not talking about PS3 over 360. This really isn't aimed at someone who hasn't purchased either console yet. I want to know from you gamers who already own a 360or a 360/Wii.

For example: I don't feel that the 360 is better than the PS3. But I would buy one if i could afford it. (not about the price, just about my cash flow) And i would buy it because I know it has some killer titles to play and some nice features PS3 doesn't have. I really have no excuse as a gamer to say i wouldn't get one.

**Follow-up question: If pric has been your biggest issue as of late, how many more gamers out there like you do you think there are? Is it much of a stretch to think that, since the 360 is already at the price sweet spot, further price drops for the 360 won't gain MS nearly as much as the PS3 will for Sony?

I will purchase a PS3 when it reaches $299 and pick up Killzone 2 at that time. I've got no interest in any other games out for it. So I'll do what every other PS3 owner does.. watch movies on it. I wouldn't even be doing that if it weren't for the fact that I live overseas and can't get the movies on XBL/Netflix. I'll probably also pick up Uncharted 2 when that comes out as well.. but not many people can afford to waste $300 on a console to play 2 games.WillieBeamish

already played and beat the only ps3 exclusive i was interested in, and my friend owns a ps3, so i dont need to buy oneDante2710

i'm still on 'no games', at least personally. i'm sure people have fun with it but none of the current library interests me apart from LBP & VC. two games that the majority of PS3 owners never bought :P.

IMO when the PS3 drops a game that I need to play (similar to RE4 and Metroid Prime for the GC) is when I will buy a PS3. All of the "PS3 has a huge library" arguments are null and void IMO. All I see is a bunch huge collection of multiplats (I have a 360) and a handful of exclusives I dont feel is worth the effort for the system. I havent rented a movie in years from a video store ( I use my on-demand services) so the Blu-ray qualities of the system dont entice me. Everything else about the PS3 is not related to gaming which doesnt add anything new to gaming to make me shell out some cash for the system.

I have been burned in the past for making console purchases based solely on the joys of gamings past from a company. Sony has not shown me anything this gen (GAMES!!!) to earn my money so until they do, a price drop wont bring a PS3 to my entertainment system.

If the PS3 had the type of software that made the Playstation a household name (PS1 franchises that revolutionized gaming), I would have bought a PS3 at launch for its full price. Just because the N64 was dirt cheap sitting in a bargain bin doesnt mean I spent my money on it, same goes with the PS3 ATM.
