What series needs to die

For me its got to be the tony hawks games. I loved the first, the seconds, the third....and then it was somewhere around tony hawks pro skater 57* that it dawned on me that this is esentually just the same game again and again and again. Its also getting wilder and to be honest stupider and less like a skating game with each new release.

What series do you think has been over done?

I think every series like Tony Hawks should get a revamp, like Ubisoft are doing with Prince of Persia, every few years or so, so they aren't just the same game over and over.

I think Crash Bandicoot needs to die, Spyro is trying to re-invent itself this year otherwise I'd say that, but Crash is just the same as usual...

the first one was a disaster and the second one is all about the graphics.

Yeah, I think I'd go with this as well. The games are just not moving forward enough - I gave up on them a while back when COD came to consoles and beat MOH at its own game.

I liked the first one and think that the second one has an opertunity to iron out some of the issues of the first.

If they don't do that, then they should call it a day.

Guitar Hero. It was good at first but Activision is just spamming it now. This year alone will see the release of FIVE Guitar Hero games.

The Mario spin offs need to die, except maybe Mario Kart.

And if SEGA is going to continue to rape the Hedgehog then Sonic just needs to go ahead and die.

Why are people choosing good series...IMO a series doesn't need to die until it starts getting crap scores and the games coming out completely suck and are nothign like the rest in the series. Until a series get's stuck in a rut why should it die? Seems like people are just choosing either well liked series or long running ones that are still good. I'm confused...bobbetybob

Some seem more valid than others, buts its all just opinions. personally I think tony hawks games are not moving forward in the right direction. I stopped playing them when they got wierd and less like a skating game with each new release!

Either needs to die or get a revamp. The only way I can see it getting a revamp is with Wii MotionPlus.

I've only played the one GH game - GH3 - but it seems to me that this game only needs 1 release per generation max, just add more downloadable content instead!

I feel Bungie has maxed out the use of Halo and needs to come up with something else. They seem like a great growing company and need to try their hand at something different; even if they are compelled to continue with Halo gaming could benefit from a new idea.tonyf55

Yeah, they've got the trilogy now, which is a good place to end it and should go with something new.

However - the name is sooooo huge now, I can't see them doing it. Its just too much of a cash cow.

They've already wrapped up the Halo series, so why keep making main Halo games? As long as it's off-shoots and prequels, then I'm fine with it.

Dynasty Warriros, Crash Bandicoot (it's was good in it's time, but now is just a shell of what it used to be), Samurai Warriors, Medal of Honour (unless the next game promises a radical face-up).

Mario Party. Like honestly 8 games? Honest milkage and it took 8 games to notice that.

I like Mario Party 2 though.
