This is what the game almost looked like. Pretty fucking generic.

As we found earlier today, Capcom originally wanted to make Street Fighter 5's art much more realistic. While they ended up scrapping this idea, there was some development in this avenue.

We've discovered a few images depicting concept art from the early days of SF5, and things looked drastically different. We get a glimpse of Ryu, Bison, Karin, Nash, Chun-Li and Birdie, and some of them looked absolutely awesome.

Check out what could have been in the gallery below.

Curious as to the marking on Ryu's arm and the bandages.

Probably some Satsui no Hado where he fought Akuma? An illness on the body.

That story-line would have probably been better than what we got.

Not sure why the **** Albert Wesker is there lol

It's good they didn't Chun Li into a stick girl, thicc is best in life.

@uninspiredcup: Interesting, I love seeing how games change and evolve. Glad that they went a different route then what you posted, that really is generic looking. Looks a lot like that Fighters EX which IMO has a generic look.

At least it didn't look as cartoonish as the final version.

@vfighter: It looked kinda realistic in the 16 bit era when every game looked cartoonish.(Even Doom looked cartoonish)

@dorog1995: Lol, no it didn't. Doom didnt look cartoonish, it had a dark gritty bloody look, nothing about it said cartoon. Mortal Kombat had a realistic look, SF had a more anime style behind it.

SFV has a very unique style (as do most SF games) and its extremely well done.

@vfighter: Don't know what you consider realistic in Doom 1, Because it was cartoonish. Bloods won't make something less cartoonish.(By that you can also say Animes aren't cartoons because they may have blood)

The main reason all these games look like cartoons it's because of limited amount of colors.(Which at that time was pretty limited since games had 256 colors)

II was anime with IV/V an updated version of II using modern technology.

Street Fighter differs from other anime (barring Alpha) in that it's art work (on both men and woman) tends to not be effeminate. Everyone is built like a shit-brick house.

A few exceptions exist, like Sakura, but she's suppose to be a kid.

Yeah, I had seen that. It had a look more like Tekken, and that's just not Street Fighter.
