What should the Nintendo NX's final name be?

Nintendo has a history of some extremely cool codenames for their consoles, with the final names turning out to be less interesting. N64 was Project Reality, Gamecube was Dolphin, Wii was Revolution, Wii U was Project Cafe. And now we have the NX.

What is the NX? Nintendo's superpowered mythical new system that apparently fixes every single problem that Nintendo has ever had, and also cures cancer and gives us world peace. Right now, it's called NX, though no one really knows why.

That's not the point, though- the point is that the NX is a cool name. It's short. It lends itself to some great branding. It's cool. It has a core connotation to it, unlike something like the Wii or Wii U. The NX is cool and savvy. It instantly denotes a meaning- the next Nintendo. I don't know how, maybe it's the X in the name.

Anyway, my question here is- what should the NX's final name be? What do you think will it be? As for me, I think that the NX's final name should be the NX, and that it will be called the NX after all. How about you?

If there wasn't a phone already, I'd say the Nintendo Nexus and not just because of the NX in the word; no, I'd choose that word because we've heard plenty of rumors of what this console may be and, based on those rumors, I think treating the console as a hub or a center for everything Nintendo would be a good description.

Pretty sure Sony has a trademark on Xross.

The NX name just sounds groovy to me. It's easy to say Nintendo NX since everyone will know this time around it's a new console from Nintendo, Wii name just needs to go and Nintendo has always been coming up with different names until they got stuck with the Wii name. NX is perfect.

If that's the case, why not just say Super Nintendo NX? 2.0? Come on, you guys aren't trying hard. Super Nintendo NX sounds awesome.

That sounds lame and so '90s, it's best to just keep it simple with 'Nintendo NX'. I like that name a lot.

They should just keep NX. It's already an improvement over Wii and Wii-U. We'll just presume it as Nintendo Xtreme.

late 80s was better than any time period, but that's besides the point. A name from the 90s wouldn't work in an age where slick and clean is the key to market your product to consumers. 'Super Nintendo NX' doesn't work, doesn't have that ring today. Keeping it simple is the best way.

Before we even knew the code name I thought Nexus was a cool name, but apparently that's a google phone or something now.

I don't think just NX would be too bad, but the final name could be completely different sounding.

Sounds like something a 13 year old trying to be a badass would think of. You know, somebody with a gamertag like xXxD4RKSN1P3RxXx

The only right answer would be Wii We. Or Wii P (P for powerful!).

I just think that perhaps on name alone it well sell a bunch. Think of the nostalgia and the feels from old school NES and SNES fanboys (me being one of them)

But that's the problem, N7 is from Mass Effect's N7 rank from System Alliance and the last thing we want the consumers mistaking Nintendo's new console for a Mass Effect console and knowing EA, they'll gonna file a lawsuit on this bad boy and Nintendo ain't gonna win that case.

The only wrong answer is to have the word "WII" in the name.
