Since I haven't been in a school for a while:
Mostly Super Nintendo, some Playstations and some want to get the N64 when it's released in the near future.

Your school sounds like my school (sorta). Genesis and SNES are pretty popular at the moment. The Saturn and Playstation have just come out, but they're so expensive (ESPECIALLY the Saturn) that no one really wants them.
And what's this N64? I haven't heard about it. Is it something from Nintendo?
(Note: These comments would have been made circa 1994, since 1994-1995 was my senior year in high school. N64 didn't come out until my second year at college... Man, I'm getting old! ;) )
I'm an elementary school teacher and most kids at my school are rocking the 360 and wii. I did attendance one week and instead of saying "here" I made the kids tell me what console they owned... not one kid say PS3. One kid even said it was too expensive! A kid thinks a toy is too expensive!!
I teach music by the way, I see every kid in the school.
I dropped out of school a few months back but the talk of my alternative/stoner school with my friends(i knew and chilled with everyone there) was approz 75% Wii, 20% Xbox 360, 5% PS3
everyone loves/wants the wii and many people already had an xbox360, but hardly anyone talked about the ps3 much and i dont know if anybody had one or not because nobody talked about it
at the school i went before that before the consoles were released, alot of the casuals there were paying a lot of attention/anticipation to the ps3, not too many people had the 360, but as time went on and people kept on finding out more about the wii(revolution  ), it's anticipation rose above that of the ps3s

Yeah, pretty much the same for me, wrote it for around 95-96, basically my senior year in high school by the standards of my country. I probably should have mentioned the Genesis and Saturn, but for some reason they were almost non existant around here, or I just never meet the Sega home console people. It's not like I ran around asking other kids what consoles they have.
At least I also had a battery eating Game Gear and later a Dreamcast myself. I can also see me loosing a lot of money for VC games on the Wii to compensate for missed Sega games (and other classics too ofc).
:)
