What System seller do you see overtaking this Winter?

With all these rumors of a possible Gran Turismo 5 release and the now announced Final Fantasy 13 date, which is exclussively for the PS3 in Japan, what BIG game do you think will hail as the winner this holiday season?

MW2 > Halo 3: ODST > FF:XIII > GT5

Call of Duty will easily.

Gran Turismo 5 will sell a ton when it comes out. Then again so will Modern Warfare 2, it's a close call.

Modern Warfare 2. No question. Halo ODST is going to sell a good amount as well. Too many people complain about the price nowadays. They can always buy it online for $15 dollars cheaper. It's not an issue. People are only complaining that they themselves don't want to spend $60. They're not fighting with anyone else in mind. Like I said, you can get ODST and even Modern Warfare 2 for a good amount less than retail value.

Well, COD4 sold 12.27 million when you combine the sales of both versions. GT4 sold 10.36 million and GT3 sold 14.89 million. FFX sold 7.95 million and FFXII sold 5.11 million. Halo 3 sold 10.13 million.

Well, FFXIII is only releasing in one territory so that will not be the best selling this winter. GT5, if it's released simultaneously worldwide, could sell quite a lot. People are expecting MW2 to produce GTAIV caliber day one sales, so that will definitely be up there. Also, it is a multiplat. Halo: ODST does not seem to be getting the same buzz in the general public that Halo 3 got.

Because FFXIII is only releasing in Japan this winter, I think the sales will break down like this during the winter.

MW2 unfortunately > GT5 > Halo 3: ODST > FFXIII

However, ODST and FFXIII could become interchangeable depending on how many ODST bundles are sold.

Eventually FFXIII might sell more once it releases overseas when you factor in Japan sales as well, but MW2 will be the winner this holiday season.

the only thing gta4 sold was gta4. it didnt sell any systems

here are the numbers in NA for that month:

• Xbox 360 - 186.6K
• PS3 - 208.7K

it sold over 800k units on the 360 and over 400k on the ps3... yet those hardware sales are about the same as the previous month:

• PlayStation 3 187.1K
• Xbox 360 188.0K

thats an easy one. mw2 is going to demolish all of them. mostly because its a multiplat, but also because its the most hyped game this year.mtradr43

I will try to find the NPD analysis this year about the slowdown on YoY sales.

They clearly state that the lack of something like GTAIV (and Mario Kart on the Wii) is part of the reason for the slower salers in comparison to last year.

360 sells about the same

ps3 only a slight bump

YOY does not prove a system seller, Month Over Month does (especially in slow months)

im going with new super mario bros wii thats a hands down no brainer

i actually find it funny that not a single 360 ps3 game from 2006-5 or even 7 is on the top lists

but heres wii with wii play wii fit mariokart smg metroid all selling

and ds with mariokart nsmb -2 titles from 2005 ish lol im suprised i dont see super mario 64 ds on there
