Then how is he a first time buyer? I'm confused...

First time buyer as in they've never owned a video game system in their life?

If they are a kid... I don't know. PS2 or Wii I guess. The PS3 and 360 don't have alot of kid appropriate games.

If they are an adult, i'd say the Wii. The controls are easy and the games are fun. I totally believe in taking baby steps and the Wii is pretty easy to handle but you can still get joy from. Plus, Virtual Console has ALOT of great older games that I feel any gamer should be forced to play in order to be well rounded as a gamer.
