Poll What TV do you game on? (93 votes)

Full HD - 1080p 47%
HD Ready - 720p 1%
4K 11%
4K with HDR 41%

Since the whole excitement for 4K and constant comparisons along with hardware double standards towards PC... What TV's do you console gamers and gamers period actual have?...

I own a 4K monitor at 40" and a 50" 4K Samsung neither are HDR compatible as I bought a year prior the HDR push.

I have a 50" Panasonic 4k non-HDR TV. Bought a couple of years ago, just before HDR became the standard.

But I'm still very happy with it. Picture looks incredible with XB1 X.

HD but it's a really cheap and crappy tv, like £200 tops. Rubbish.

I have a 40" Panasonic Viera tv I bought 8yrs ago (yes you heard that right) and it still works great. Last month I bought another Panasonic Viera tv but this time it's a 55" 4K, HDR, 6yr warranty. Setting up my X as we speak :)

I game on a LG 4K monitor without HDR most of the time.

I have a Samsung 65" 4KTV that's HDR capable but that's for movies and entertaining guests. I rarely ever game on it.

Bought a Samsung 55" KS8000 HDR TV about a year ago.

Was amazed at the time....................not so much now.

Since i rarely game in 4K (I prefer to sacrifice resolution in order to hit stable 60fps), the only value it has had has been HDR..............and not many games support HDR.

So..............yea, I wish I had waited to get one

I plan on skipping HDR for TV for the next several years since I watch movies on my projector and plan on grabbing a HDR 4K projector. Looking at the Optoma UHD60 which would be nice boost over my Optoma GT1080e.

I have a 55" 4k hdr set, but it's mainly for watching, not for gaming. I just prefer gaming on the monitor, even hook my consoles up to it now when I play a console game.

Think the last game I played on the TV was BotW. Low frame rate game, and not really fast paced, so I just opted for a big screen experience instead.

Thanks man. I dunno, I'm not that up on stuff these days but heard many talking about waiting until next year for the new TV's that have I think, USB2.1 and Vsynk or something which X1X can benefit from?

Dunno. hey, I'll take any help I can get and though I do try to spend wisely, I am a Purchasing manager after all lol but on a whim or impulse, I can buy anything, mah budget is sky high, not bragging but it is what it is. lol :P

@SecretPolice: I see. That's a good point then if you're waiting for the sync stuff. Hopefully the wait isn't too long. I'm looking for a 4K hdr monitor for my desktop. Going to eventually join the 1080 crowd next year.

Samsung 50 something inch.

I'm at 1920x1080 for TV resolution at the moment and 2560x1080 on my PC monitor and will be for the forseeable future.

If I ever upgrade my TV, I think my monitor will have to follow suit. So I'm looking at a huge cost, not willing to put that much investment in, at least not for now.

I have a 55" 1080p OLED TV which I think is superior to any 4K TV that is non-OLED.

When I bought my TV about two years ago, I did a lot of research and determined that 4K was just the current marketing gimmick since it was easier to market, but that OLED was a much better investment to spend my money on to get a big noticeable better picture quality.

I think I made the right choice and everybody that views my TV comments on how amazing the picture looks.

Last year I bought a Vizio P-50 4K with WCG capable HDR that supports both HDR-10 and Dolby HDR.

Just ordered my 4K bluray player so I should finally get to use the TV for what it was made for.

My next PlayStation will support it better than my launch PS4 as well but I'm patient.

That being said there isn't much support for 4K let alone HDR, so same thing I should have done with 4K is what I am doing with HDR... I'm waiting a few years till all the flaws are ironed out.

@Zero_epyon: The glass cost about $20 and it's about an inch off the screen(it flexes a bit), but perfectly see through and dust proof. All hand built. It can withstand hurricane force winds(objects flug at it). My Lowe's in town cut it to size when I bought it also. And no prob... Us parents need all the tips we can get.

It's a LG 55" 1080p OLED, but I bought it 2 years ago and it looks like that model has since been discontinued. It looks like the prices of their 4K ones have been cut in half over the past two years though (either that or they are having a big sale right now) and the LG 4K OLED TVs are now actually cheaper than what I paid for the 1080p OLED TV two years ago.

I was using a Samsung 4K HDR TV as a monitor recently because my monitors PSU went south. It's now sitting at the side of my desk unused because I missed the higher frame rates and G-Sync

@storm_of_swords: yeah TVs are dropping fast. Not saying it's good, but there's a 4k 55" at Walmart for $285. Wouldn't be a bad bedroom TV. Paying for college out of pocket so, I'll just wait til the LG 4k OLED are under the $1000 mark.

True. Currently, I get my 4K content from Netflix, Hulu, and 4K Blu-rays. It's sparse but nice when it's there.
