I mean Final Fantasy was third party. Metal Gear is third party. What's their Mario or Halo for their platform?

Most of those still have to be "out" yet. Keep in mind i'm also including PS1 and PS2 titles.

Resistance is big, but not like Halo big, and God of War is probebly the closest one in terms of amazing popularity of an IP.

Grand Turismo sold a lot because in many ways it was the first realistic racing sim for everything and it's kinda been the defacto standards of racing sims.

Probably not, but Some other poster would have posted them. I wasn't accurate to the Killer Ap idea, I suppose, but I wanted the TC to see what was out and which he considered Killer Ap.

It's wierd, they only have like 1 MONSTER franchise (GT) and then several 2-3 Million seller franchises. They really need another HUGE franchise like GT if they want to have game franchises that catch peoples attention for their platforms. Esspecially since they take 3-4 years to make...

Uncharetd is 1st party. Resistance is 2nd. Sony owns Naughty Dog and have a great partnership with Insomniac if I'm not mistaken.

Grand Turismo is the only one, i'd say.

God of War follows, but even it doesn't do crazy numbers.

The thing for alot of the titles people mentioned is that they get the most sales when they drop down to twenty dollars.

Ratchet isn't a game you buy a PS2 or PS3 for. You pick up Ratchet on a whim, to have something to play while you wait for GOW, GT or some third party exclusive.

The same goes for alot of the titles listed.

Uncharted is 1st Party, I think I've had to correct over a hundred posters here in SW.

Just so you all know, NAUGHTY DOG = SONY. Sony bought them out, long ago.

However, Insomniac is 2nd party, you actually got that right. The games Insomniac makes so far are owned by Sony though.

Insomniac is a second Party Developer, but makes FIRST Party games for Sony.

Crash was in the PSOne days, when his games were GOOD. However, Universal owned the games that Sony was Publishing and Producing. In the end, they seperated ways, and the devs from Crash and Spyro went with Sony.

Since then, Crash has been made by Universal (and that's why they suck now) and the ONLY good Cras/Spyro games were made by The Sony Devs that made the earlier games.

Crash Bandicoot 1, 2, 3, & CTR :Crash Team Racing (All the Good Crash Games) were CREATED AND DREAMT UP BY Naughty Dog.

Naughty Dog went on to Create Jak and Daxter, Jak II, Jak III, Jak X, and Uncharted. As you can see, they are a fantastic developer and that's why Sony bought them.
