What do you think would be more damaging? A broken console, or your identity stolen?

I like how people bring up the RROD but seem to ignore the YLOD. Theres fat PS3s dying almost every week, it's only a matter of time before all fat PS3s bite the dust.

Yes and that will be because of natural causes not a flaw that all fat PS3s have I might add. :P[QUOTE="razgriz_101"][QUOTE="Crossel777"]

I'd say the PSN breach, but no one got their identity stolen ._.

Also, anyone who thinks MS (or any company for that matter) is immune to security breach's is deluded.
I have never gotten RROD and I have used my 360 for thousands of hours for the past 3 and a half years. None of my friends have gotten rrod either and most of them play as much as me. PSN network breach on the other hand affected everyone and lasted for over a month, About the same time it takes to send in your xbox 360 for repair and get it back.
A fat PS3 a 5 year old console.? Vs 360 which had a way higher fail rate, and had been failing since launch.I like how people bring up the RROD but seem to ignore the YLOD. Theres fat PS3s dying almost every week, it's only a matter of time before all fat PS3s bite the dust.

RROD by far. It took four years, but it finally happened and now I'm pissed.
I wasn't even active on the PS3 at the time of the outage, and I'm pretty sure no valuable info was stolen as I have a tendency to lie every time I register for something.
Once again; the correct answer is RROD was worse and that's what the poll will dictate. What do you think would be more damaging? A broken console, or your identity stolen?

Lol. You think that its worse to have a broken console than to have your identity stolen?
RROD I'm on my 4th 260, probably be 5 if I t had games. PSN outage didn't effect me one bit and I currently have my CC information on there.Heil68
On your 4th 260 now?
RROD. The identity theft breach was the hackers fault since they were the ones who tried to hack PSN in the first place. RROD on the other hand is completely Microsoft's fault since they rushed the 360. It doesn't matter how you spin it, a 30% failure rate is unacceptable. Nobody had their details stolen from the identity breach, and that breach didn't cost anybody anything (except for Sony). RROD costed people a lot of money since they have to buy new 360s (or send them in for repairs). Microsoft made RROD a less painful experience with the 3 year warranty, but shipping with a 30% failure rate is still something no manufacturer should ever do.
RROD, because I wasn't able to play Mass Effect 2 when it came out because of it :/
PSN I didn't care about, because I didn't register with my actually information. I don't care about I.C. Weiner getting his identity stolen :P

No it's called OPINIONs. You cant just make your opinion a fact. Who cares what the poll says. Some people agree that Outage was more worser and most agree that RROD was worse. I personally think PSN outage was more worse, it was a huge scare for people like who had their credit card on the service. Not everyone was affected by RROD but for PSN outage, every single person was affected. Also you can just get your xbox repaired and get it fixed. PSN outage was far worse. Xbox RROD was nothing, it was no scare and it was not a problem at all.No you're WRONG. It didnt effect everyone who bought a 360. I got effected but my friends didnt. Also 360 RROD could be easily repaired within a day. I repaired mine and I got it fixed.RRoD, because it effected everyone who bought a 360. PSN hacking only effected those with a PSN and information that was worth stealing. Both were bad though.

People's identities here are worthless. As is mine. What did people lose thanks to PSN outage? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Not a single CC used. What did we get in return? a MONTH's worth of PSN + (in which I got $15 worth of stuff) and I got 2 15 dollar games. That's $45 Sony gave me for not letting me play my online games for 3 weeks. I still played all my single player games perfectly fine. RROD is something that lasted (and is still lasting) for years. half a decade. Not a few weeksAll my information is out there, publically posted on facebook and youtube etc. Anyone can find my address, name, birthdate etc. In fact I could type here, if I wanted too. I don't see what's wrong. What, some one's going to kill me or something? Lol'd.
People may not have had their "identity stolen", but rather their personal information. As far as we've seen in the media, there have been no reported bouts of use of CC information or any reported identity theft.
Regardless, both were bad, but it's hard to give the nod to one over the other. The PSN breach has the potential to be far worse though.
