I didn't any this year, really. I played two hours of the demo of Left 4 Dead, but I can't think of too much else.
What say you?

Left4Dead wooohoooo!!!:
I played the demo on the 360 and felt it was just "ok". But I had store credit my at Gamestop and figured why not take a chance and buy it. I got it home and fell head over heels for it, very addictive. Its good to have a game that actually utilizes the features of XBL as the core gameplay and not a tacked on afterthought. Left4Deads plays like any good zombie flix, no need for a extensive plot, just get the hell out of dodge away from the horde!
I havent been this happy with a multiplayer game since the original Unreal Tournament on the PC.
Game On...
Fallout 3. But seriously - Left 4 Dead.Salt_The_FriesYeah, um, don't do that. Anyway, mine has to be L4D.

Umm... Fallout 3 CAN be played in first person, and its lightyears better than any game released this year
Too bad its not a Shooter, its an RPG with shooter elements.
This is opposite of something like STALKER, which is a shooter with RPG elemtns

Well, I would say Fallout 3 is kind of half and half as opposed to being elements of anything. So much of the game revovles around combat with ranged weapons, and it is meant to be played in first person. Take away the free roaming (Which is part of shooters now anyway.), and the ability to switch out equipment and it becomes an FPS. If I could count Fallout 3 as a an FPS, I would probably go with that, though it isn't quite traditional FPS.

If one were to judge it based on its gameplay as an FPS, it is terrible. The only thing that makes Fallout 3's combat bearable is the VATS system, which itself is an RPG combat system.[QUOTE="WasntAvailable"][QUOTE="dgsag"]Too bad its not a Shooter, its an RPG with shooter elements.

VATs isn't strictly RPG, what gave you that idea? When it was turn based it was traditional RPG gameplay, but in F3 it just lets you pause the game to line up your shot, something you can do in many FPS's. Reagardless I still call it 50/50. An FPS/RPG hybrid if you ask me.
