What was your first console (or PC)? And what is your console of choice today?

What generation did you start gaming (which console or PC did you own) and what's your favorite console this gen?



I played my first games on the Apple II GS; things like Hard Hat Mack and Q-Bert. Then we got a 386 PC which I played games like Quest for Glory and Castle of Dr. Brain on.

I vaguely remember the Apple II GS having some really old and slow polygon games, which were Isometric and the thing you controled was made up of 4 triangles.

My first console was a Nintendo though. I still remember when Zelda first came out.  That Dragon on the first level was scary.



Anyway, my system of choice right now is a Playstation 3, although I use its backward compatibility quite a lot.

I've been having an itching to get all those old adventure games I used to play and go through them again though.

Back in 1993 at the age of 3, I got a SNES for my birthday and from that point forward has been one of many hobbies I have.

EDIT: Super Mario World was my first game for the SNES.

That's interesting but half my question deals with your current console of choice.

Second Generation with the Atari 2600.

I like the PS3/360 about the same, I have no favourite system this gen.

The 3rd generation. By the time of the 5th generation I went back and experienced the 1st and 2nd generation. I feel oldWatchmenWatchUs

Sorry for not answering the question fully. My first system was SNES, then Playstation, and so on. My favorite console of all time is the PS2. This gen my PS3 and PC get all the time. Wii I don't touch that much anymore and I am skipping the 360 and waiting till next-gen for Microsoft. My favorite game this gen though is MGS 4 as of right now. That can change. I play any kind of game out there. My next big anticipated releases I am waiting for are Killzone 2 and UFC 2009.

I started gaming back when I was three with the NES. 

But it wasn't until the PSone/N64 generation that I started getting into gaming more as a hobby and big time commitment.  Last gen was learning about the different consoles, owning all three and researching a lot about the games and such.

This gen, I prefer the 360 and PS3.  Each has games that I really enjoy and the future games look just as appealing.

My favorite btw the 2 is the ps3 but my fav game is on the wii.

My first console was a Genesis, then after that, PS1, last gen, Gamecube/XBox/PS2/Dreamcast, and this gen I have a 360.

I'd say I really got into gaming on the PS1 when I was 12-13, then moved up to a PC around 1999-2001, and somehow ended up with all the consoles last gen. (I only bought a GC and a PS2, the rest were given to me by bored friends. :P)

From there a couple years ago I got back into PC gaming, and then in the last few weeks dropped the cash to get a 360 and an HDTV on a whim and am loving it so far. I forgot how much I missed sitting on the couch and playing games, and actually having something to do with friends when they come over, not having to worry about hardware failure, etc. (Well, okay, RROD and all, but for a PC you built yourself? Hard drives, PSU, anything go bad, it is your problem.) The 360 is also a lot safer to play drunk; cannot tell you how many expensive keyboards I've ruined that way. (Well, okay, three ;)) My TV should last a while, so I'm not sure if I'm gonna build another gaming rig again (at least not for a while).

My current Athlon x2 6000+/8800GT 512mb should last  me for a while though, I'm still running games pretty much maxed on it.

First system I owned was PC. Backin the day I would play prince of persia and Dig Dug (great days)

First console was NES with turtles (GOTY)

First handheld was GBA with Tetris (GOTC)

I guess it was an Atari,  but other than playing Pong on it, I don't remember anything else about it.

Atari -> NES -> SNES/Genesis/Gameboy -> PS1/N64 -> PS2 -> PS3

I was 5 when I got my SNES back in 1994.

Ive been a sheep ever since and own a wii,DS and 360(RROD)

NES in 1988, then PC from 1993-2001, PS2 & Xbox from 2001-2005, 360 in 2005, PS3 in 2006. Add in a Gamecube in 2002 and a Wii in 2006 that have basically been used for Metroid and F-Zero, and you have the whole rundown.  I'm mostly a 360 gamer, nowadays.

It's hard to beat the PC games from that era - Doom, X-Wing, System Shock, Descent, Wing Commander, Magic Carpet, Fade To Black, MDK, Thief, Rainbow Six, etc..  That's the stuff that really formed my opinions about gaming.

My first video game machine was the commodore 64 in which i played some sweet army game that i can't remember, some crazy helicopter game, rampage, and the ever so awesome hot wheels!  Oh ya, there was also platoon.  That game scared me, i remember the character being kind of freeky looking.  My first console was the NES though, and man was i addicted to that thing.

This gen i love all the consoles to be honest, they've all offered me some amazing experiences.  i like the different interfaces(even if i have some complaints(360s is too damn slow)), the controllers, and of course the different games each have provided.  But, the wii edges out the 360/ps3 as my favourite.

Started with a NES then it went SNES>n64>ps1>gc>wii. and i definately prefer the wii this gen.

i started pc gaming when the first worms game came out and then got big into heroes of might and magic 2. few years later i played Starcraft ive been hooked since. ive played a lot of other pc games too but these are the ones that stand out the most.

my first system was the NES. i don't remeember the first game but i played a lot of them. ninja turtles, contra, super mario bros 1,2,3, other games i can't think of but were good.

my current consoles r 360 and pc.

I played on the NES as young as 2 or 3, but we had an Atari 2600 and a Commodore 64 as well. It wasnt till the SNES at age 4 that I started getting into it and playing Doom on our old crappy PC. After that, I got a (in order) a:

Been upgrading PC's over the years.

Nowadays I'm a PC gamer with a Wii for extra stuff.
