What were cows thinking when they hyped Uncharted?

Uncharted is a great game.

Only people who haven't played it will give it crap.

Just because the game has an 8.9 on GR doesn't mean that everybody is bound to like it.

Uncharted was AWESOME!!! I had no problem with the gameplay. You probably just suck at hardcore 3rd person shooters.

The game could be a little overly difficult at times, but that was it's only fault in my opinion.

I can't wait for the sequel, Uncharted was the only game I've truely enjoyed on my PS3. (Haven't played MGSIV yet).

I wonder if we played the same game... the combat worked fin for me, no problem with aiming, headshots always worked (if you had a problem with aiming, maybe that also explains your problems with headshots?). There's always enough ammo, you just need to pick up the guns that the dozens and dozens of dead dudes leave lying around...

Might be that you didnt enjoy the game, but come on, most of the stuff you wrote about the game up there is just wrong.

Wrong, I have it, beat it twice, and I completely agree with the OP, except not to such an exaggerated extent. I think it was a decent game, but is overrated by cows in general. I had fun with it.

Uncharted isn't the best game, it isn't even in my Top 10 this gen, but it was enjoyable, not worth $60 though.

It should not be that bad, especially since you can just take the enemies guns...idk, once I got past chapter 11 or 12 the got amazing for me. I think I ran out of ammo one time when I was fighting a truck with an m60, but I cannot remember. Try to do this. Use the pistol and AK-47, when you are far away use the pistol, close use the AK. Maybe that will help because the machine guns are almost useless from a distance, atleast the AK is.

There are just enough.

They always over hype this stuff. It's cause of the lack of games, instead they need to hype the few "ok" games they have up to heaven and back.

Sadly, uncharted, Resistence, motorstorm and even god forbid metal gear solid 4 are not gods gift to the Jesus Station like they'd have you believe. There ok games, there not the best, there not bad just not as amazing as they make it all out to be.

The game sucks. All the reviews I read say "Combat can feel a little akward" or "The gunplay can feel a little uneven, but.." What but? THERE ARE NO BUTS! 90% of the game is that akward combat. Uncharted has some of the worst combat mechanics I've ever witnessed. Aiming is an ordeal within itself. You never have enough ammo, and the way enemies dodge your bullets is laughable. Aiming at an enemies head often does not register a head shot, and it can take a whole clip to down somebody. After you clear an area that had ten enemies, the music stops and you think it's safe to come out of cover. Suddenly, five more enemies appear and you have about seventeen bullets. WTF? What was Naughty Dog thinking? Dark Sector has better combat than Uncharted, and that is very sad. It should be a better game then, no? Great graphics, but seriously, the game is broken. I disagree and reason I say that is because I felt the game felt more real life like when running around with drake and taking cover and also using his combos. It just felt more fluid and more real life like compared to gears of war. Plus when u took cover hiding behind an object, the enemy was able to break your cover and also the enemy would come around u and flank u from the side if u were playing it on a higher difficulty setting. The game just look better and played better in my opinion. The only thing that hurt the game was because the game was short and didnt have online features. But Uncharted still had a great story unlike gears which had a mediocre story and single player was even shorter then uncharted despite uncharted being a short single player itself. Uncharted was a great title and was the ps3's first true next gen expirience and I totally thought uncharted was better then gears gameplay wise and had better graphics and had a better story but thats just my opinion. Truelly an AAA title anyone who owns a ps3 should go pickup if u havent played it. Uncharted 2 is being developed aswell and I cant wait to see how it looks, should be amazing.

The problem isn't that it's that bad. It's the fact that it isn't that good. No wonder there's no multiplayer. Why even give me semi-automatic weapons if I have to conserve ammo? And why conserve it? Is it survival horror or third person adventure?

Well you have to conserve ammo because you are a treasure hunter who ran into unexpected guests making your hunt a lot more difficult.

And soon enough you will not have to worry about ammo. Just keep playing the game.

Haha, yeah. I think you are suffering the same thing I was when I first started playing. I thought I was getting headshots but I was really just missing. The game has a small window for the hit detection and it takes some time to master it. Just keep playing and you will end up enjoy the experience.

normally i wouldnt reply to these sort of threads asi guess it is opinion.. but..

Uncharted is an amazing game and the combat is not awkard at all. I didn't find any real difference between the cover and shooting system in uncharted from Gears - another good game. actually, i found the fire fights in uncharted more compelling than gears as NMES actually force you to break cover.

in the whole game there was one instance when the cover system failed me. this game is my fav this gen.
