What will be the best FPS of this fall?

The thing is I know exactly what to expect for Doom, which is fine. It's going to be a great game all around except for I hope it doesn't feel repetitive like the 2016 game did towards the end. Borderlands 3 is either going to be as good as 1/2 or really bad. I'm glad they said no micro transactions. COD is a wildcard. The MW series was pretty good. I really enjoyed 1 and 2. I don't know why I just never got around to 3. I think the campaign has a very good chance at being great but it also has a very good chance to be a dud. They all have there own style that sets them apart from each other. So for all these reasons, I didn't vote.

They have removed arena lockdown so it definitely feel less repetitive.

This is how I see it.

• Borderlands 3-It's getting bad publicity. Randy Pitchford has a big mouth that's making it worst for this game and so far, I'm not even impress cause this is looking more with Borderlands 2 and so with that, I'm skipping this game and continue playing 2.
• Doom: Eternal-As you said, we know exactly what to expect for a Doom game but disagree with being "repetitive" cause Doom series has always been repetitive and I'm totally fine with that. It's a video game, you are supposed to do the same thing over and over again if you catch my drift lol.
• Call of Duty: Modern warfare-Now this is a huge of a reboot. This game is using a brand new engine, this isn't gonna be the same CoD and the way this is going, I'm loving all the good stuff for the PC version and so with that, looking forward to it.

Between Call of Duty: Modern warfare & Doom Eternal, I'm more hype for Modern Warfare then Doom Eternal so Modern Warfare get's my vote.

Borderlands should just basically, rip off Doom, or Shadow Warrior and speed up the players movement and give them a skill tree that is actually interesting - changing how you play.

Hobbling around like you've been knee-capped to stand still and look down a sight, with incremental boosts in gun and stats simply isn't fun.

All those levels and millions of guns could just be condensed down to something more meaningful.

As it stands, it's like crusty old bread starting to go green. You can scape it, but it's still old ass stale bread.

Doom Eternal looks like it will have issues as well, not a fan of giving enemies shields and putting more focus on glory kills. Platforming in FPS is also a very tricky thing to do well, in almost all cases it sucks.

From those though, Doom has proven itself. The other two are shite.

@ghosts4ever: I didn't mind arena lockdowns for the most parts. I was just doing "hit & run" mill. Open environments is a nice step in the right direction.

theres literally no issue in Doom eternal. mack video was very biased since glory kills are only optional and his video claim its not. for that watch gmanlives preview who played demo at E3.

Half life also had some platforming sections.

@ghosts4ever: Oh yea, worthabuy is a complete idiot blaming consoles, the last game, and practically every id game since Quake 4 was designed for console.

Him screaming with his outrage shtick about "ye old days" like it's some great revelation is laughable. Consoles had a Doom exclusive game and it was great, better than the PC focused Doom 3.

Still, the shield thing i'm not a fan of, and from prior videos we are basically seeing stuff from Quake 3 and Mario, which is very odd.

Not saying it will be bad, could be amazing.

That doesn't even count every promising or otherwise big FPS releasing this fall. You forgot Boneworks, Respawn's new IP (unless it's delayed), and Half Life VR.

Out of all the revealed games including the 3 in this topic, Boneworks looks the most promising so far.

Borderlands 3

I used to like mack and still do for some videos but when he praise rainbow six vegas 2 as better example of realistic tactical shooter and blame siege (which I may not like but its still more tactical than vegas crap) that day he lost credibility.

Doom Eternal

His little rant were cute, but really, that's all he has going for him. 1. Old days better 2. Consoles bad 3. Publishers bad, he's youtube outrage culture at it's lowest form. And yes, he is a hypocrite and doesn't deserve a penny, from anyone.

Even for Halflife 2 his video is just lazy, as with most of them it's shat out to get over the 10 minute mark. Compare it to something like the work Kim Justice and you see the difference between some jerk-off with a mouth and someone consciously putting effort into their work.

He always praise MOH allied assault as an example why old games were best when that game was also scripted and short.

he also praised far cry, battlefield 1 etc. bunch of bad games.

Hard to say as my interest in those three games is about equal.

The only one I'm remotely interested in is Borderlands 3, but that's only a maybe and only when it's cheap and on Steam.

Battlefield V: The Pacific

This is the first COD i plan on getting since MW2, the multiplayer actually looks really good, plus 50v50 matches, vehicles. Also they are giving it a proper SP campaign. So i want to check this one out.

I plan on getting Doom eternal as well, probably after a price drop tho. After i beat doom 2016 story it sat on the shelf... MP was pretty bad and the executions were tedious/obnoxious. Solid SP game tho, i just had some mild complaints with it.

Ion Fury

looks interesting although I want modern graphics in 2019. but it cant beat

these gameplay are what they need to market. not some slow gameplay shown with gamepad. that made game looks pale in comparition.

I could care less about modern graphics. Doesn't make the game any more fun for me to play.

Give me good level design and gameplay.

Graphics matters. this is not 1993. if game have good graphics. chances are you are going to explore the Location more and more. I explored many location in Metro Exodus because graphics are fantastic.

@bussinrounds: I think you sold me on Ion Fury. I never paid much attention to it before, but after watching some of that gameplay footage, it looks enjoyable. I still prefer the modern graphics like the DOOM reboot, but Ion Fury at least looks relatively clean and not a crazy low-res pixelfest.

Doom Eternal is all I care for. I don't care for the other two.

The games looks great. Will play it in the future when I have time. It's too bad that they had to change the name. Ion Maiden was a cooler name.

I chose MW. I was having a hard decision for about 5 seconds choosing Borderlands 3 and MW.

MW devs seems it wants to improve the game better than Borderlands 3 devs, which I'm pretty sure are trying to make the game better but compared to the new MW, Borderlands 3 takes the L.

I'm actually surprised Doom Eternal isnt winning by a landslide. I dont generally hear Call of duty spoken well of.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but Call of Duty is looking really good... kind of hard to say otherwise. I mean, as far as CoD goes, this one looks like it has the potential to be one of the best. With no season pass everyone gets all the maps, and there will not be a fracturing of the player base? Pshhh.. it's over. This is exactly what they needed to do to the franchise to reignite a passion for it. No season pass, a new engine, the most dlc content in a CoD game ever was already confirmed, a rumored battle royale coming a couple of months after launch, no (or minor) microtransactions at launch (yes we all know it will be full of them eventually), several new game modes and more guaranteed on the way, competing with large maps and vehicles Battlefield style (hopefully this will make BF step their game up since the last two were complete and utter shit), more than one competitive mode, etc. I can't believe I am actually a bit hyped up for this, but CoD has fooled me in the past.. so I guess we'll see. CoD usually looks terrible (and the last couple/few have been just that), but projectile-based bullets and no hit scan has me excited without everything else.

A lot of people are probably voting for COD just to annoy Ghosts... lol.

What is this? Battle of the unoriginals and uninspired?

We all know what we are getting with all those games because we have played them all before.

But at least with DOOM it's legitimately fun and exciting. The others? Not so much.

Clearly CoD... I kid. If Doom Eternal holds up what the first game did, then it'll probably be the best reviewed. CoD does seem to be trying to change things up though, which is nice.

honestly, i'm looking forward to all 3.

I haven't really liked a CoD game since Black Ops 1 but I like the direction they are going in with the new one.

Borderlands 3 looks similar to past games which I had a blast playing through with friends

I voted for Doom Eternal though since there just aren't many games in this style being made and i'm optimistic it'll have a bit more encounter variety than the last one which I consider a bit overrated though still solid

This might be the first time I am actually interested in a COD game.

Fair enough, and to be honest I do still enjoy Far Cry, Assassin's Creed, Doom, and all the n'th installments of various franchises (and honestly wish they'd make more in others), it was just a funny selection of games that I consider generally repetitive.

It's just, well...it doesn't really matter what Borderlands or CoD you play, because if you played one you've pretty much played them all. Can say the same for Doom to an extent, but at least that game has evolved a bit.

@mrbojangles25: Well I'm mainly excited for Doom Eternal since my biggest issue with 2016 Doom was the arena gimmick, and people are saying this game ditches that.

While I havent played Borderlands or COD (Cod looks extremely boring to me) I really like Megaman games which in terms of main series really were just more of the same but it's fine imo since really I just like having more levels.

C'mon now we all know the words "best" & "first person shooter" don't belong in the same sentence.

They really are three very different games and could be great in their own right. I like the RPG-elements in Borderlands so that's my favorite .

Maybe doom is too complex and fast paced for you.
