What will be the RPG of 2010?

Here are my predictions for the top 5 RPGs, if The Witcher 2 is 2011, not 2010. If its 2010...I think it will be in Alpha Protocol's place.

No FFXIII is not on here, but another SE game is though. FFXIII has no chance right now.

But, Mass Effect 2 will be very hard to beat. Not only is it a surefire RPG of the year candidate, but the GOTY favorite as of now.

Alpha Protocol will be one of those games that will go down as a flawed masterpiece...important in the evolution of the genre but will have flaws that need to be improved on for the sequel.

Fallout New Vegas is looking great and should be even better than Fallout 3.

Fable III, if it works, it will be really really great. This game puts genre convention on its head.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution...........good news, it takes the gameplay elements from the first game and the sense of conflict from the second game. Major WIN. Maybe it will teach Squareenix what an WRPG is when they publish one. Hint: Tomb Raider and Hitman are not WRPGs. Another interesting note, Sega is publishing Alpha Protocol, another WRPG. Its a great sign that Japanese publishers are doing WRPGs.

i like fallout me2 was hardly an rpg but it was a good game

As of now it looks like ME2 may take the gold. Have yet to dive into it but I hear its just ridiculously good.

Gamespots last GOTY clearly shows that scores arent the defining factor for the winner, Im sure XIII has a chance for RPG of '10.

I prefer Final Fantasy but I do think ME2 will take the title this year.

You think FFXIII can beat some extremely strong contenders. Any of those games listed may be able to beat ME2.

And MW2 did compete for GOTY on many gaming sites...it lost, but it was a nominee. I don't like the game, but reality is it was in the running.

Diablo III.

I am probably the only person who thinks it will come out this year. Then again, I am a shameless Diablo fanboy so feel free to disregard my ridiculous opinions. :P

Meaning that Mass Effect 2 is not a role playing game. But you already knew what I meant, right?

man, really enjoyin me2 right now, also playing ff13 but i can never ever get used to battle systems such as those in ff games. Just playing for the cheesy story and music and awesome visuals:D anyway, lovin me2, so i vote that. really want to try me1 but time is not on my side for every possible past game :(

Looking back, Deus Ex: Human Revolution is being made by a developer with literally no experience and has nothing to do with the original creators... remove that one in favor of FFXIII.

Demon's Souls. Came out last year and it's just so damn good it takes this year too :P.

Honestly I don't know, but I'd bet on Mass Effect 2.
