Well there's been talk about (((cloud))) possibly being next best thing in comparison swiss cheese but with all confusing technologys slowly rolling out from now and beyond and don't forget all sneaky tactics deployed by game companys:
What will future gaming be like in next 5 10 years? could we call 2011 last era or was it 2010........
People may recall 90's to be best gaming decade of all time but will next console cycle really decide fate on games we play.
if hypothetically speaking disks slowly fade and developers build all content+games towards digital content (100%) market and not disk this includes single player games and multiplayer games this includes passes for entry that become mandatory in all games would this bother you or how they implement it in future while taking your consent.
Well Who knows what we'll have maybe what "steam" did but in reverse "buy digital content and similar to how cloud works your profile allows you order a physical disk from either "developers store" "retailer store" shipped straight to your mail box but vendors and retailers must aggree to some contract to sell their games similar how apple operates but all profits go back to them who knows how it will work ", prediction.
Console makers have the power to make consoles not run off disks in-fact they could be designing a new console with no disks just hdd enabled as this is all theory the threads really designed to get others opinions and also if gaming will change for good.
this might impact pc mostly well greatly or not.
