What do you think will happen to the PSP after this game is released? Do you think it's all over or will Sony be able to counter with something?

I personally think this will be it really. This series is huge on a handheld and I don't see PSP recovering after Pokemon Diamond is released. Sony will probably counter with a price drop and/or a redesign.

What do you think?

There's no way Sony can compete with the legions of Pokemaniacs.

I'd say that Crisis Core will likely shift a few machines.

I don't know, alot of the Pokemon crowd are likely to already have a DS. I'm not sure how many new machines the new game will shift.

I'm gonna get the Pearl version. Gonna get the Diamond one for my girlfriend. That way she won't be hogging my game. The only reason I'm even here right now is because she won't get off of Viva Pinata...

Other than Tetris of course. I suspect that new Super Mario Bros will outsell Pokemon.

I'm still unconvinced that there are that many Pokemon fans who don't yet have a DS.

How could NSMB outsell Pokemon? I don't think that's possible.

This is off topic but you need to tell me if you think our union needs more change, and what. Comment in either my blog or in the union.

Sony's PSP is a great thing for the handheld market. I'm not sure why there are people (even Nintendo fanboys) wanting it to go away? :?

For once we have something that can stand against the basic monopoly that Nintendo has created for itself.

My littl cousins from ages ranging 5-10 have PSPs. Also DSes, but let's face it, the image you people conjure up of Sony PSP owners being the "older" group isn't true. Nintendo themselves actually have the older market with the Brain Age games and more "non-gamer" games.

Your logic goes against my fanboy insecurities. Every system other than my own must die and it's presence does nothing good for the industry.

Here's the Link showing the DS has the older market, or a large amount of older people aside from the "kiddy" market someone may think... and I know this is off topic a but... but just in case anyone goes "Only kids will buy Pokemon" excuse. I'm 18 and plan on getting these games, and I know older people who will be or people just as old.

"Touch Generations software buyers are female and are age 25 or older, demonstrating the broad appeal of Nintendo titles like Brain Age and Big Brain Academy, which provide engaging and entertaining content for baby boomers and seniors alike."

NSMB has sold 8.7 million so far, and continues to sell consistently well. The best selling Pokemon game is Red/Blue, with 20 million, but subsequent games haven't got near that. Silver/Gold sold 14.5 million, and Ruby/Saphire 13 million. So far, Diamond/Pearl has sold 5 million in JApan.

I reckon NSMB could potentially sell double what it's done so far, but a final figure of 12 million is realistic in my view. Pokemon may struggle to reach above that threshold.

Not sure?? It'll increase U.S. sales number of DS which are the lowest of all 3 regions that's about it.

Edit: I didn't like any of the option so I didn't vote ;)

I'm not so concerned about what Nintendo could do to the PSP, but what Sony plans to do with it. The PSP almost appears like a testing ground for the PS3. A lot of features that the PSP sports are in the PS3 like the XMB plus an experimental media format. The only thing I have to fear with the PSP is Sony screwing it up, which could be a good possibility given their current screw-ups.
