What will Nintendo offer for the future?

Will they push for next-gen graphics like the PS3 and Xbox did this gen?

Will they provide us with an upgraded version of the Wii, possibly Wii2 ?

If the 3DS is any indication social gaming will be a selling point. I also expect some sort of motion control based off the wii mote or maybe kinect

So they get both nintendo exclusives and multiplatform games. Right now wii feels pretty pathetic.

Although an unrealistic wish, I'd much like for Nintendo to operate under the PlayStation brand. Three console manufacturers are too many for me but I wouldn't want to do without Nintendo's games. Moving towards a single platform would be great where the competition lies solely between games and not between different consoles.

I imagine a perfect way to play it would be a real time game from the point of view of the Pokemon, and have your trainer always follow you rather than you play as the trainer.

Of course if you enter shops, and towns you could switch between them.

But for battling you'd just have your standard attack of tackle, bite, gust, etc which would just go off every second or w/e (Like an auto-attack), and then have the type moves be your cooldown spells.

But who knows. It could be amazing if they incorporated every type of battling in the game, so you could have big, full scale real-time battles, turn based battles against single trainers, and even a trading card game on the side :o Because the Pokemon Trading Card game on the Gameboy Color was amazing :P

The Wii could maybe be accused of that, but the DS? What in the world makes you think its overpriced? If anything, I would argue Sony and Apple are the ones with the overpriced hardware in the handheld market.

Nooooooo! How can you say that!? We need a photo realistic Mario, blood and gore in Zelda and a Donkey Kong tearing his foes apart limb by limb, all in a dark grey world.

Joking aside.

I don't think Nintendo is going to make a next gen console, they're going to (like they did with the Wii) make a NEW gen console. You don't beat your competition by trying to be better than them, you beat them by being different. Also there is the Vitality Sensor, from my understanding it's a piece of hardware designed to work with software to combat stress. Stress is actually becoming quite a serious issue and if all the moms and dads (who for some reason so many gamers hate) gets one along with the Wii or the new console, Nintendo is once again going to lead the way forward.

Ummm no, this is the first time Nintendo has been behide hardware wise. In the past they were either in the middle or at the top, Gamecube and N64 were not a gen behind during their respected gen periods.

1. release the 3DS and support it well

2. keep supporting Wii

3. reveal new console

4. blow the competition away with innovation :P

In the future, I'm pretty much just going to hope siding with Nintendo for handhelds and Sony with home consoles will give me the largest variety of games without having to intentionally purchase additional systems solely for access to first party exclusives.

Entirely new game genres. The ability to play games in an entirely new way on the 3DS is pretty exciting.

If there is one area Nintendo actually is usually a generation behind the frontrunners in, it's optical formats and storage space. To say that Nintendo is far behind on content delivery and all-purpose fuctionality is a real understatement... it's hard to imagine the Wii can't even play DVD videos out of the box.

Traditional MMO players are irrelevant anyway, though there would be enough depth in battles for core players.

Whether or not they will make it is very hard to tell, I'm thinking that the chat filled with crap is not something Nintendo likes. It's not going to be WoW like, more family friendly-ish of course.

I would quit life it they'd make a great Pokemon MMO. I would also prefer the more relaxed nature as opposed to the competetive one in WoW.
