Mass Effect 2 as a jrpg - what would need to change? First off, who needs guns when you've got this:
Remove all choices from the game, remove interesting (original) characters and replace them with generic boy with spiky hair & generic 13 year old girl with eyes and breasts 5 sizes too large.
Also need to implement some 15 year old gameplay mechanics... selecting attacks from menus and then pushing a single button to execute it... oh yeah!
Replace Gun with Sword, Make Shepard not bald and not old and make him into a young gun anime teen.
and actually have an attack menu, potions, shops, random battles and pretty much everything a jrpg has.
WRPGs just seem to be Shooters in disguise.
-Change all characters into spiky haired emo insecure teenagers.
-Have all of them wear absurd/revealing outfits.
-Make the story revolve around fighting some mighty evil entity.
-Replace interactive dialogue choices with cheesy and awkward 20 minute long cutscenes.
-Make all female characters have a busty figure no matter what age/race they are.
-Replace 3rd person shooting with turn-based giant sword of magic powers supercombo power of whatever crap.
So i just dreamt about the Reapers did I? :? The reapers are not evil, they just have a diferent opinion on things.[QUOTE="SpinoRaptor24"]

Shepard wants to save the galaxy, they want to destroy it,but they´re doing it for the greater good.
They are not evil, they just feel destroying the galaxy is a good thing.

And Sephiroth thought he was going to create the promised land by crashing massive meteor into the earth...I doubt you actually wanted discussion.
What you'd probably see is more backstory for both the main characters and subcharacters (ie characters may have complex histories that predate the primary events of the game). It's one things that JRPGs not named FF13 do fairly well. As a game progresses, you develop and understanding of why certain characters interact the way they do and events that may have led characters to the way they are. The story in WRPGs is typically relayed to you by the supporting cast and events that surface as the game progresses. JRPGs often have a stronger link to both character and the game world's past.
It's a fairly different approach to story telling. In WRPGs, you are aware of essentially everything your character is. You won't learn anything new about who your character was before the game because the games focus on character development at the onset of the game. This is a fairly strong approach to roleplaying but a often a weak approach to storytelling as you literally can't pull character and story elements that precede the game.

Wow that is hilarious. By that reasoning there is no evil. Just a difference in opinions... Pretty much,it´s always a misunderstanding ;)- make the game linear
- take away the morality system
- take away gun elements and implement swords, Shields and magic
- add some sort of turn based hybrid engine
- every character has to support crazy hair styles, plus everyones hair has to be a different color
- 90% of the cast have to be between the age of 11-17
- make the boss into a really moody adult
- lips must be out of sync
- make the voice acting terrible
- all female characters must have small waists complete with huge busts
- all male characters have small to no muscle at all

Actually I was going to say fighting a giant evil Angel or something evil with huge wings.

I was going to say "come from Japan", but this sums it up pretty well.
Not all JRPGs have over-sexualised female characters, angsty teenage boys, weird hair-cuts, oversized swords or horrible character development. :|

Final Fantasy VI?
Terra Branford (main character of FFVI) is very modestly dressed and isn't busty at all.
Comparison with Miranda Lawson from Mass Effect 2.
No player characters in FF6 are underaged with the exception of Gau and Relm who are both relatively playful and happy.
The haircuts are virtually what you'd find it most western games i.e short hair, shoulder length hair, pony tails.
The longest sword in any of the game's official media is Cyan's katana which is a traditional japanese sword known for its length and cutting edge.
Most of the player characters are also developed thoroughly like Locke, Celes, Terra.

add this...to make it more teen or more memorable content than sex-content

Wow that is hilarious. By that reasoning there is no evil. Just a difference in opinions... Because that's what it ultimately is.First of all, they'd have to alter the setting by a significant degree. Mass Effect 2 is a space opera with elements of hard science fiction mixed in - most JRPGs I know pay significantly less attention to believability and plausibility. The prevalence of two metre long swords being swung like plastic daggers by half-naked anorexic women rather illustrates my point.
name the ones other than demon souls that don't have any of those.Persona series, Suikoden series, Resonance of fate, Valkyria Chronicles, FFI-6 + FF9 etc.[QUOTE="Vesica_Prime"]

Dont forget that more than half the female cast must have thigh high socks. Dont know why the japanese love these days. Lets see... Put effeminate male characters in the cast too. Emo dialogue and that the most important thing in the world is friendship and the power of love and that is your regular jrpg.Remove all choices from the game, remove interesting (original) characters and replace them with generic boy with spiky hair & generic 13 year old girl with eyes and breasts 5 sizes too large.

name the ones other than demon souls that don't have any of those. I don't like JRPGs. I find them boring and time wasting. But telling someone to name something and then saying "other than this..." is stupid. =| No point what so ever. Because it just shows that you are wrong. Should have just said, name three games. =|[QUOTE="Vesica_Prime"]
